A hair cosmetic composition contains (A) 0.01 -20 wt % of one or more of specific branched quaternary ammonium salts and (B) 0.1-30 wt % of oils and fats. The hair cosmetic composition is excellent in imparting softness, smoothness and antistaticity to the hair and even when oils and fats are contained in a large amount, does not leave oily appearance or feeling on the hair.
A hair treatment composition is disclosed. The composition comprises: (A) a branched-type quaternary ammonium salt, (B) one or more agents selected from the group consisting of oxidizing agents, reducing agents, and dyeing agents, and (C) a higher alcohol having a branched ratio of 1-50%. The composition is directed to hair perming, hair dyeing, and the like, and exhibits excellent hair protecting and hair conditioning effects even under severe conditions. It features good handling performance, e.g. the capability of preventing running of the liquid and of providing superior spreadability. The excellent conditioning effect lasts for a long period of time even after repeated washing.
A composition for hair treatment such as hair rinse, shampoo, or hair conditioner, contains (a) 0.1-10 wt. % of a modified silicone polymer having at least one alkoxy group in the molecule and a melting point of not lower than 30.degree. C., (b) 0.1-20 wt. % of a cationic surface active agent, (c) 0.1-30 wt. % of an oily or fatty material, (d) 0.1-90 wt. % of an organic liquid which is compatible with water and of which molecule has at least one hydroxy group, and (e) water.
A hair cosmetic composition comprising the following components (A) and (B): (A) 1.0 to 50.0% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of a dialkylene glycol monoalkyl ether represented by formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and R.sup.2 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms; and (B) 0.01 to 20.0% by weight, based on the total weight the composition, of at least one cationic surfactant is disclosed. This hair cosmetic composition imparts an excellent texture to the hair and protects the hair from splitting or broken, without showing any stickiness or an oily feel.
A low pH skin-treatment composition employs cationic surfactants generally known to be skin irritants and a fatty acid, together with a hydrocarbon component in an oil-in-water emulsion. The addition of fatty acid to the cationic surfactant appears to form a complex which prevents the cationic surfactant from irritating the skin and at the same time substantially reduces pH of the composition. The resulting composition is not skin irritating, and reflects a pH of about 2-4. The composition may be used to restore pH of skin after exposure to alkaline compositions, and as a vehicle for the administration of active agents having an acidic pH.
A hair cosmetic composition comprising a branched fatty acids of the following formula (1), ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a methyl or ethyl group, n is an integer of 4-16, and R.sup.2 is an amino, alkoxy, or glycerol group. The composition imparts excellent sensation to hair and prevents hairs from being damaged.
