5294208 - Notebook-type personal organizer - Owned by Insilco Corporation (Secaucus, NJ)

A notebook-type personal organizer comprises a multi-ring binder to which a plurality of leaves is connected. Plastic bags are connected to the binder, and each bag contains a pad of adhesive-backed paper sheets. The bags are adhered to a stiff posting sheet by means of a releasable adhesive to keep the bags from sagging and tearing. The user removes the pads from the bags and inserts them into pockets formed in a front panel of the organizer. Once a note is written on a paper sheet, the paper sheet can be removed from the pad and then adhered to the posting sheet for future reference. The posting sheet can be removed from, and inserted onto, the binder rings without opening those rings, and can be used as a straight edge or a distance-measuring ruler, and also to mark the proper day among the calendar pages of the organizer.

5628530 - Method and system for collectively tracking demographics of starter drug samples - Owned by Info Tec LLC (Raleigh, NC)

A method and system for collectively tracking demographics of physician (12,14) prescribed starter drug samples dispensed to a plurality of patients (18,20) from a plurality of different dispensing locations (38,40) employs a multipart product specific sample drug voucher, such as a smart card (100) or a preprinted two part voucher (102), which has a marketing information portion (30,34) and a separable prescription portion (32,36) to be completed by the prescribing physician with starter drug sample quantity and dosage information along with patient demographic information. The prescription portion (32,36) is segregated from the marketing information portion (30,34) at the pharmacy (38,40) either electronically by a card reader (112), if it had been encoded on a smart card (100) by the physician (12,14), or physically by separation along a perforation (50), if recorded on a two part voucher (102), and is electronically retreivably stored in the pharmacy computer (130) from where this tracking information is electronically transmitted to a central remote computer (134), such as at the drug manufacturer, for subsequent rapid market analysis (136).

6338503 - Promotional display structure and method - Owned by Omega Engineering, Inc. (Stamford, CT)

A promotional display structure has a plurality of elongate strips of stiff but bendable material assembled in a pack with their obverse and reverse faces alternating in the pack, the first face having textual display including promotional matter and in some cases also cartoon matter, the second face having illustrative cartoon matter and in some cases also promotional matter, the pages of the pack being releasably connected at one end of their elongation, for example by gumming or other form of binding, and being readily detachable by hand from the remainder of the pack. One or more lines of weakness may be formed in the strips, for example by perforation or crimping, to facilitate folding of a part of the strip against the remainder of the strip, and a releasable fastening may be provided to retain that part in the folded condition. There are also provided a method of forming the promotional display structure, and a method of disassembly thereof.

6859780 - Method and system for dispensing, tracking and managing pharmaceutical products - Owned by Trialcard Systems, Inc. (Cary, NC)

A new method of dispensing, tracking and managing pharmaceutical product samples by communicatively linking prescribers and pharmacies to a central computing station. The present invention entails utilizing product trial media that is exchanged for actual pharmaceutical product. The media is encoded with information that identifies a particular pharmaceutical trial product, such as by magnetic encoding similar to that used with credit cards. The media is distributed to participating medical doctors or prescribers who then activate the media via the central computing station. The prescriber then transfers the activated media to patients who then present the media to participating pharmacies. Before filling the pharmaceutical trial product identified by the media, the pharmacy validates the media via a link with the central computing station. Then, the pharmacy dispenses the prescribed pharmaceutical with the central computing station also includes a database that records data related to the use of the media so that all pharmaceutical trial products can be accounted for.
