This relates to a swing scaffold assembly comprising a plurality of frames disposed in alignment with each other in spaced apart generally parallel planes. Each such frame includes a lower cross beam and a secondary frame structure supported on an intermediate section of each said cross beam. Opposing end portions of each cross beam extend outwardly from the intermediate beam section. A pair of uprights are each connected to and extend upwardly from the opposing ends of each cross beam. An upper cross member spans the distance between and is interconnected to the upper ends of each pair of these uprights. The secondary frame structure for each frame is arranged such that when the frames are in their spaced apart parallel positions they serve to provide a plurality of raised centrally located supports upon which longitudinally extending planks or the like may be laid thereby to provide a raised central bench for supporting building materials at a height convenient for masons and the like. At the same time those portions of each cross beam which extend outwardly from the intermediate section likewise provide spaced supports for longitudinally extending planks or the like thereby to provide lengthwise extending walkways on opposing sides of the raised central bench when the scaffold is in use. Thus, this raised central bench serves for the storage of brick and other building materials. The bricklayers, for example, can work from the walkway on the building side of the scaffold while the laborers or tenders work in the walkway on the opposite side of the central bench thus avoiding interference between these two groups of workers and providing improved productivity gains.
A tender box adapted for use with a crane or other hoist device for providing an elevated working area. The tender box includes a frame and a platform with upper and lower decks. The lower deck provides a storage area for material and equipment and the upper deck defines a work area. The tender box includes a detachable test weight, which is located beneath the lower deck, and side arms and spacers, which space the tender box from the face of a vertical structure.
Standard platforms are integrated into a mason's scaffold to reduce manufacturing and assembly costs. The standard platforms having hooks on both ends. The hooks are supported on lower horizontal members of respective rectangular frames. Platform fasteners are secured to each lower horizontal member with the standard platform hooks therebetween, thereby retaining the standard platforms to the frames to form a working deck. Each platform fastener comprises a metal sheet to which is welded an L-shaped bar that engages a hole in the frame lower horizontal member. A pin slides within the metal sheet and cooperates with the bar to positively secure the platform fastener to the frame lower horizontal member. Similar standard platforms and platform fasteners are assembled to upper horizontal members of the frames to form a protective canopy. Hatches with selectively openable doors may be used for some sections of the canopy. The present invention further comprises fairleads for guiding the cables from which the mason's scaffold is suspended from a building or the like.
A device for moving a platform at least in vertical direction along a facade (1) of a building defining a front face by a cable (16, 17) which extends along the facade, which device comprises a winding apparatus (14, 15) for the cable, which can be driven by a driving apparatus, and a guide for causing the cable (16, 17) to extend vertically along the facade on the outer side thereof, wherein an apparatus for moving the guide in such a manner that the guide pass the front face.
A hoist is provided that aids in construction and/or maintenance tasks at elevated heights. The hoist is equipped with a centrally located stabilizer through which a steel cable connected to an electrically operated winch is routed. The hoist is raised and lowered through the use of a control station located within reach of the seat.
