6351105 - Power controlling unit and thermal processing unit - Owned by Tokyo Electron Limited (Tokyo-To,JP)

A power controlling unit of the invention includes a power transformer: having a primary side connected to an Alternating-Current power supply source; and a secondary side having an end side provided with a terminal connected to an end of an object whose power is to be controlled, and the other end side provided with a plurality of voltage taps. A switching part is disposed between the plurality of voltage taps and the other end of the object. The switching part selects one from the plurality of voltage taps in order to connect the one to the other end of the object. A storing part stores output values for the object and switching patterns which correspond to the output values respectively. Each of the output values is set correspondingly to a unit of control consisting of a plurality of cycles of the source. Each of the switching patterns defines a voltage tap that should be selected if any in each of the plurality of cycles in order to achieve the corresponding output value. A switching controlling part can read a switching pattern corresponding to an output value from the storing part and control the switching part based on the switching pattern.

5541498 - Distribution circuit var management system using adaptive capacitor controls

This invention provides various methods and techniques for adaptive control of pole-top capacitors to compensate for inductive customer loads along distribution lines together with control of Var flow into supply lines to a distribution substation by a load tapchanging transformer control using measures of said Var flow as a voltage control bias.

7158042 - Voltage regulator for physically remote loads - Owned by Siemens Aktiengesellschaft (Munich,DE)

The invention relates to a voltage regulator for physically remote loads (2) with an adjustable power supply (9) for the load (2), with a measurement device (11, 12) assigned to the load (2) for creating a digital measurement signal, which is transmitted over a digital data channel (13) arranged between a data source (15) and a data sink (17) to a setting device (18 to 20) for the power supply (9).

5568402 - Communication server for communicating with a remote device - Owned by GSE Process Solutions, Inc. (Hunt Valley, MD)

A method and apparatus for communication with a remote device 250 by a node system 200 and a SCADA system 100. The SCADA system 100 communicates with the remote device without protocals or characteristics of the remote device 250 or the communication channel 270 connecting the remote device to the node system. A display 250 may monitor the communication channel 270 and may be remotely located with respect to the node system 200. The node system 200 may schedule the input from the remote device 250 by setting an interval and duration so that the input may be transmitted.
