An environmentally friendly polymer film pouch made from a polyethylene film structure for the packaging of flowable materials, for example milk, including, for example, a pouch made from a multilayer film structure such as a two-layer or a three-layer coextruded film containing at least one layer of ultra low density linear polyethylene, as a seal layer.
The present invention pertains to a continuous process and polymerization system characterized by separate injection of catalyst and make-up feed, an ethylene interpolymer composition characterized as having broad molecular weight distribution (MWD) and optimized compositional uniformity, a process for making such a compostion and a fabricated article made from such composition. The novel composition is characterized as having a melt flow ratio, I.sub.10 /I.sub.2, from 8 to 30, a M.sub.w /M.sub.n of greater than 4 as determined by gel permeation chromatography, a melt index, I.sub.2, from 0.01 to 1000 grams/10 minutes, preferably greater that 0.1 to 10 grams/10 minutes, and a density less than 0.945 g/cm.sup.3. The novel composition exhibits good processibility and improved toughness properties, especially excellent film tear and impact resistance, and is particularly well-suited for use in applications such as high performance trash can liners and heavy duty shipping bags.
A high clarity film containing three layers wherein the polymer of each outer layer is the same or different polyethylene selected from polyethylenes having a density of at least 0.925 g/cc, and a molecular weight distribution of less than 4, and being further characterized by being substantially free of branches having 6 or more carbon atoms, polyethylenes of the outer layers optionally containing a fluoroelastomer.
An environmentally friendly polymer film pouch made from a polyethylene film structure for the packaging of flowable materials, for example, milk. The film may be a monolayer or multilayer structure, such as two-layer or a three-layer coextruded film containing at least one layer of a blend of an ultra low density polyethylene and a high pressure low density polyethylene as a seal layer having high melt strength. Also disclosed is a process for making the pouch for packaging flowable materials using a film structure described hereinabove.
