An improved bicycle derailleur mechanism generally includes a bracket with two parallel spaced lugs extending perpendicularly therefrom, obliquely positioned on a first pivot member so that an inner cable extending through an adjuster nipple to a cable clamp on a parallelogram body is retained at a same angle when tension in the cable is adjusted by rotating the adjuster nipple, resulting in alignment between the derailleur mechanism and sprockets on a bicycle rear wheel remaining unchanged.
A rear derailleur hanger alignment tool is provided with hanger attachment structure, an elongated main arm, a movable body, an indicator and an indicator positioning structure. The hanger attachment structure is attachable to a rear derailleur hanger. The movable body is movably coupled to the elongated main arm between first and second ends of the elongated main arm to slide axially along a longitudinal axis of the elongated main arm and to rotate about the longitudinal axis of the elongated main arm. The indicator is movably coupled to the movable body to move perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the elongated main arm. The indicator positioning structure is operatively formed between the movable body and the elongated main arm to selectively maintain the indicator in a predetermined angular position with respect to the longitudinal axis of the elongated main arm.
A cable operated control device includes a movable control member, a frame coupled to the movable control member, and a cable guide member mounted to the frame for rotation around a guide member axis. The cable guide member includes a curved outer peripheral cable guide surface disposed radially outwardly from the guide member axis for guiding the cable. A bearing having a cable guide surface is disposed radially outwardly from the outer peripheral cable guide surface. When the cable guide member has a small radius of curvature, the cable may contact the bearing and thus avoid the excessive friction encountered in the prior art.
A cable support member includes a base member having an opening for receiving a fastener for fastening the base member to the bicycle. First and second spaced apart cable guides are integrally formed with and extend from the base member. The first and/or second cable guides may be formed as panels, each of which may have an opening for receiving a derailleur cable therethrough A rib may be provided which extends from the first cable guide toward the second cable guide to help reinforce the first and second cable guides.
An apparatus for guiding a cable includes a frame and a cable guide member mounted to the frame for rotation around a guide member axis.
In recording information by shifting the positions of the front edge and the rear edge of each pit on a medium stepwise from specified reference positions according to recording data, the edges of each pit are displaced stepwise with a unit of macro-step of 0.04 .mu.m, to express the data. The positions of the edges with macro-step are further adjusted to be displaced stepwise with a unit of micro-step of 256 kinds, thus suppressing the Inter Symbol Interference. With this adjustment, it is possible to reduce the influence of the Inter Symbol Interference, and hence to perform the recording with high density.
