Abstract
A portable warm air humidifier for delivery to a room a steam air mixture of uniform moisture and at a temperature that does not cause sensation of pain. A steam ejector is used to mix the steam from an evaporation chamber with the air entering the humidifier with the advantage, among others, of eliminating the need for motors and blowers. A difference in the water level between a water supply compartment and the evaporation chamber provides a constant pressure in the evaporation chamber which is necessary to drive generated steam through a steam nozzle communicating with the steam ejector. The dimensions of the steam nozzle are determined in relation with the rate of steam generation in accordance with steam velocity to effectively eliminate or minimize the noise normally associated with the passage of steam through a nozzle. The humidifier may have a filter medium to filter particulates from the air notwithstanding the drop in pressure of the air across the filter medium from the outside to the interior of the humidifier.

7523751 - Device and method for providing a controlled mixture of gas and vapor to a patient - Owned by Ultra Rhino Therm Ltd. (Kibbutz Netser-Sereni,IL)

A method including: providing a device that includes multiple tilted heating elements, and a housing that includes a fluid reservoir inlet that is adapted to receive an inverted fluid reservoir, a gas inlet that is adapted to receive pressurized gas from a gas pipe, a gas-vapor outlet; and activating the device to provide a controller mixture of gas and fluid. A device including: multiple tilted heating elements, and a housing that includes a fluid reservoir inlet that is adapted to receive an inverted fluid reservoir, a gas inlet that is adapted to receive pressurized gas from a gas pipe, a gas-vapor outlet; wherein the multiple tilted elements are placed at least partially within fluid within the housing and are adapted to heat the fluid such as to generate vapors; wherein the device is adapted to output, via the gas vapor outlet a mixture of gas and vapor.

6477322 - Portable humidifier

An electric warm-air humidifier consisting of a base, a boiler tray supported on the base, a heating element, a liquid supply supported on the base and having a discharge opening communicating with the boiler tray and adapted to maintain a given level of liquid therein and a vapor chimney supported on the base having a receiving end communicating with the boiler tray so as to receive vapor therefrom and a discharge end for discharging the vapor received from the boiler tray. Also included is an electrical supply for supplying electrical energy to the heating element and a switch mounted on the heating element and adapted to deactivate the electrical supply in response to separating movement between the vapor passage and the base assembly.

6019355 - Contractible portable humidifier - Owned by Honeywell Inc. (Minneapolis, MN)

A portable humidifier having a base defining a boiler cavity; an evaporation mechanism for inducing evaporation of liquid within the boiler cavity; and a liquid supply including a contractible and expandible vessel having an outlet communicating with the boiler cavity and providing restricted liquid flow between the vessel and the cavity.

7386225 - Humidification apparatus

A humidification apparatus, comprising a container and a set of heating tube; wherein water (liquid) can be introduced from a container to one end of said heating tube, and an steam outlet is provided in another end so that the steams generated by heating liquid (water) flowed out or spurted; said heating tube is an electric film where the external surface of the quartz tube is electrified for heating. Steams will be generated when liquid (water) introduced and reserved in the tube is electrified and heated by the electric film and then boiled. Therefore, it is necessary to heat partial liquid depending on the amount of steamed needed, and thus power saving can be achieved.

6874771 - Humidifier with a heating disc - Owned by Kaz, Inc. (New York, NY)

A humidifier includes a base defining a reservoir for retaining liquid, a humidification device for inducing dispersion of liquid withdrawn from the reservoir into the environment and a liquid storage tank having an outlet for feeding liquid into the reservoir. The humidification device includes a heated disc for evaporating a stream of liquid delivered from the reservoir to the heated disc by a delivery mechanism. The delivery mechanism may deliver the stream of liquid as a mist, a thin film or a controlled stream of liquid onto the disc.
