Abstract
A structure is provided whereby an insertion hole in a waterproof stopper is prevented from damage upon pulling a terminal out of an electric connector of a waterproof type. A terminal lug includes an electric contact section, a wire connection section and a joining portion through which the lug is joined to a terminal carrier. In the condition where the wire connection section is crimped on a wire, the cut joining portion is offset to a position closer to the central axis of the lug than the bottom plate portion of the wire connection section so that both ends in a width direction of the cut lug are located inside a contour formed by, and axially extended from, the wire connection section.

6004171 - Crimp-type terminal - Owned by Yazaki Corporation (Tokyo,JP)

A crimp-type terminal for electrically connecting an internal conductor to a mating terminal, includes: an electrical connection portion for fitting connection to the mating terminal; a conductor clamping portion having a base plate, and upstanding walls which extend respectively from opposite side edges of the base plate, and are pressed to clamp the internal conductor; and interconnecting walls respectively connecting the upstanding walls to the electrical connection portion, wherein each of the interconnecting walls have a bend portion for absorbing a stress, produced in a direction of a width of the crimp-type terminal when the interconnecting walls are pressed, by deformation.

6558208 - Electrical contact for press-bonding to electrical wire - Owned by Tyco Electronics Amp, K.K. (Kanagawa,JP)

An electrical contact for attachment to an insulated wire includes an insulator crimp section (11) having a pair of insulation engaging arms (12a, 12b) which are offset from each in an axial direction of the wire. The insulation engaging arms include facing edges (38a, 38b) which are arranged to contact each other along a spiral track when the insulation engaging arms are press-bonded to the insulation of the wire. Inside beveled surfaces (18a, 18b) and outside beveled surfaces (28a, 28b) serve to guide the insulation engaging arms into position and to facilitate sliding contact between the facing edges (38a, 38b) during the press-bonding. The inside beveled surfaces (18a, 18b) also provide a gap (4B) which serves as a relief area for compressed insulation. As a result of the press-bonding, the insulation engaging arms (12a, 12b) are formed into an integral unit and are strongly fastened to the insulation of the electrical wire.

6513235 - Terminal-crimping mold - Owned by Yazaki Corporation (Shizuoka,JP)

In a mold for pressing an electric-wire clamping portion of a terminal, a lower side-wall mold part and an upper side-wall mold part are provided for pressing side walls connected to the electric-wire clamping portion. A pressure face substantially continuously connected to a pressure face of an upper conductor mold part is provided on one end side of the upper side-wall mold part. A taper face is provided on the other end side of the upper side-wall mold part so as to be enlarged toward the other end. Accordingly, side walls pressed between the lower side-wall mold part and the upper side-wall mold part are deformed so that the quantity of deformation at one end is near the quantity of compressive deformation of the electric-wire clamping portion and so that the quantity of deformation is reduced gradually toward the other end side. Thus, local stress concentration is not caused in the side walls so that cracks are prevented from occurring in the side walls.
