A flowcytometer includes a sheath flow cell for forming a sample stream containing particles; a detector for detecting the particle at a first area to generate a signal representative of the particle; an imaging device for capturing an image of the particle at a second area of the sample stream; a display; a calculator for calculating a plurality of characteristic parameters of each particle; a distribution preparation device for preparing a distribution of the characteristic parameters to display the distribution on the display; a designation device for previously designating a region in the distribution; a region memory for storing the designated region; a decision device for deciding whether the characteristic parameters of the particle detected at the first area by the detection means are located in the designated region stored in the region memory; an image controller for allowing the imaging device to imaging the particle when the characteristic parameters are located in the designated region; an image memory for storing the image of the particle; and a controller for selectively reading the image of the particle to allow the display device to display the read image.
A particle image analyzer that facilitates display by designating on a distribution an image desired to be displayed from among a large number of recorded images is disclosed. The particle image analyzer is provided with a parameter computation means for computing at least one characterizing parameter for respective particle images obtained by image capture; a storing means for storing correlations between the particle images and the characterizing parameters with regard to the respective particle images; distribution-diagram generation means for generating characteristic-parameter distribution diagram; designation means for designating the area within the distribution diagram; read-out means for reading out from the memory means particle images corresponding to characterizing parameters within the areas designated by the designation means; and display means for displaying the read-out particle images.
A particle measuring apparatus includes a characteristic parameter extracting device for extracting a plurality of characteristic parameters from each particle in a sample, and a distribution diagram preparing device for preparing a first distribution diagram on the basis of the extracted characteristic parameters. It further includes a first separating device for separating a cluster including target particles from others on the prepared first distribution diagram. In addition, a discriminating device is included for setting a specified discrimination standard for the separated cluster including the target particles and for judging whether the particles in the cluster are target particles or non-target particles on the basis of the discrimination standard. Finally, a counting device is included for counting the number of the target particles on the basis of a discrimination result of the discriminating device.
A particle analyzing apparatus outputs a measurement result with high reliability with respect to a measurement item. The particle analyzing apparatus includes a measuring part, a judgement processing part, and an output part. The measuring part includes a fluid part, a control part, a first measuring part, a second measuring part, a hystogram preparing part, and a scattergram preparing part. The fluid part sucks up a blood sample in a test tube by a pipette. The control part controls the fluid part, the first measuring part, and the second measuring part. Measurement data measured by the first measuring part and the second measuring part are sent to the judgement processing part, and after judgement is made in the judgement processing part, a measurement result is outputted by the output part. The first measuring part makes measurement on the basis of an impedance system, and the second measuring part makes measurement on the basis of a flow cytometory system.
A method of displaying a scattergram includes measuring a plurality of particles with a particle measuring apparatus and preparing distribution data representing a frequency distribution of the particles on a two-dimensional coordinate plane based on a pair of parameters obtained from each of the particles. Thereafter, a scattergram is displayed based on the distribution data on a color display device by allowing the coordinates of a particle to correspond to a pixel, each of the pixels being made of three fundamental color luminescent components. A luminance of each of the three fundamental color luminescent components corresponds to a frequency of the particles on the scattergram. As such, the frequencies of the particles are displayed in different colors.
A small object identifying device and its identifying method according to which a large number of small objects can be identified. In one embodiment, the device includes a dispersion region section which disperses a large quantity of several kinds of small objects which are labeled by a combination of the presence/absence or measure of label elements of several kinds. A measuring device distributes and associates kinds of said label elements to two or more measurement points and measures the presence/absence or the measure of said label elements of the kinds which have been associated with respective measurement points. An identifying section associates the measurement results measured at each measurement point to thereby identify said small objects.
