A power supply is described that comprises two or more flyback-type, DC-to-DC converters having substantially the same periods for their respective charge-discharge cycles; inputs from a common power source; outputs that are connected to a common output node and circuitry for controlling the charge-discharge cycles of the two or more converters so that the cycles of one converter is out of phase with respect to the charge-discharge cycles of at least one of the other converters.
This patent application is a divisional of copending U.S. patent application Ser. No. 09/677,079 filed on Sep. 29, 2000 to John Frus and Michael Cochran entitled "Method and Apparatus for Generating High Voltage."
A method and apparatus for isolating and/or eliminating RFI, EMI, and noise transients in power supply circuits. The circuit isolates DC to DC and AC to DC power coupling by use of dual, parallel current paths that are alternately gated. The gating of the switches is controlled by a control module, which ensures that the input and output of the circuit is electromagnetically blocked during any instant in time, while simultaneously ensuring proper and continuous delivery of current to the circuit output load.
A pulsed plasma thruster (PPT) and a method of making the pulsed plasma thruster are disclosed. The PPT includes no moving parts and is able to achieve a small size. The PPT is also designed to facilitate easy and rapid manufacture. The process for making the PPT uses known techniques for making printed circuit board devices. Another PPT also has no moving parts and uses a liquid fuel that is progressively advanced by capillary action.
