A method and system for providing easier listener access to information about musical works and other audio programming broadcast by a digital radio station includes broadcasting contextual information about the audio programming along with the audio programming. A receiver separates the audio and data signals giving the listener access to the broadcast content and the associated information about that content. The system may also store the contextual information about the programming for later reference, for example ordering a recording of the programming.
A reproducing apparatus includes retrieving means for retrieving contents data from an electronic apparatus. The reproducing apparatus further includes reproducing means for reproducing the contents data retrieved from the electronic apparatus. The reproducing apparatus gathers episode information including information associated with the electronic apparatus about a reproduction episode of the contents data by the reproducing means, and stores the episode information in relationship with the contents data. The episode information includes information about a person or apparatus located near a user during at least part of the reproduction episode. The episode information may then be used to retrieve contents data.
A method and apparatus is disclosed for the shared playing of video by a first video player and a second video player. More particularly, the invention relates to a method for playing a video signal on a first portable video player synchronously with the same video signal on a second portable video player. In one aspect, the first portable video player is enabled to transmit video to a second player. The video is played synchronously on both video players, wherein the video is received from another player or from storage on the player. In various further aspects, synchronization signals are used to adjust the position of the video signal playing on the first and second video player, where the video signal is present on both video players.
