A stereoscopic viewer adapted to view the images of a panoramic camera film in particular without having to cut and position the image frames side by side and while also readily compensating for the variation in physical separation between points at the center and at the edge of the images frames. In one embodiment, this stereoscopic viewer comprising a base, a viewing table mounted on the base and guiding a panoramic camera film in one direction, guide rods mounted on the base, a frame slidable...
In a system in which images having parallax data, and which are made up of plural images containing the parallax information, are processed with viewing point conversion, and the resulting new images having parallax data are used, as in a system of generating a holographic stereogram, a unit for generating the images having parallax data is to be independent from other unit or units. To this end, the information necessary to perform viewing point conversion processing of converting the viewing p...
A method of obtaining a stereoscopic view from two satellite or two aerial photographs (18, 19) of the same or overlapping area. The method involves aligning the photographs (18, 19) in a stereoscope (10) with the horizontal axis (16) of the stereoscope (10) aligned parallel to the flight path taken to produce the photographs (18, 19) or parallel to the scan direction employed by the satellite. The photographs (18, 19) being produced on infra red film in the case of aerial photography or enhance...
A rulable array of cube corners defined by three sets of parallel, equidistant, symmetrical vee-grooves is provided. The directions of the three vee-groove sets make three angles, no two of which are equal. When the array in viewed in plan, lines along the roots of the grooves determine a pattern of triangles in which the apices of the cube corners lie at distances from their respective triangle's centroid that are substantially less than the distance between the triangle's orthocenter and its c...
The invention is directed to an apparatus for evaluating aerial stereo images. The apparatus includes an analytical plotter which is supplemented with an ancillary device for photoelectrically scanning and digitalizing subregions of both stereo images. The signals of the device are computer-correlated with each other to automatically, for example, determine the coordinates of homologous points and the occurring parallaxes. A method of carrying out the invention is also disclosed.
Photogrammetric apparatus wherein a pair of stereophotographs have their images projected into the apparatus's optical system so as to form a stereomodel therein, which is visually observable through the optical system's binocular viewer. Relative movement of the optical system's measuring markers and the stereomodel is detected by moving a scanner device over the planar surface of a grid device, which serves as an encoder and develops command signals corresponding to the coordinates of a select...
In a system for converting simultaneous television signals to line sequential signals, and for reconverting the line sequential signals back to simultaneous signals, the conversion and reconversion are accomplished by means of synchronous switches. In order to synchronize the switches, less than the total number of signals are produced with line-synchronizing pulses, and the synchronous switches are controlled by ring counters stepped by line-synchronizing pulses. The counters are reset to fixed...
The present invention provides a means for separating free flowing paint from lumps in the paint. Towards this end the embodiment of the present invention is a paint strainer screen preferably circular in configuration. The strainer in question, in its simplest form is manufactured from a circular disk of an ordinary wire screen, reinforced at its outer edge with a circular rim. The screen is somewhat smaller in diameter than the opening in the paint can so that it can be readily inserted into t...

Structural details of industrial plants are derived from stereo-pair photographs by analyzing the structure into basic 3D unit shapes. The information is stored in a data store and may be obtained by interrogation of the store, as a direct print out through a graphics display, or via an interfaced graphic display system, such as PDMS. Plant structural designs can be readily modified by altering the basic unit shapes within the data store and/or their parameters.
