The invention relates to a large-surface billboard for outdoors advertising. In order to generate a luminosity of the LCD elements of the billboard, extraneous light is required. In times of insufficient sun light, an artificial lighting device activates the luminosity. The aim of the invention is to prevent the lighting device from casting a shadow onto the billboard during daylight. For this purpose, the lighting device is moved out from its beam path incident on the billboard when there is su...
An image/message display device includes a ceiling fan suspended from the ceiling. A controller for the display is mounted on the ceiling fan and includes hall effect sensors for determining the rotational speed of the fan. LED panels are mounted on each of the blades for creating the image/message as the ceiling fan turns. Aerodynamic covers are placed over the LED panels. A dark, non-reflective background may be suspended behind the LED panels to enhance the view of the image/display.
An improved optical decorative system in which colored light is conducted via optical fibers from the light source to the back side of the transparent viewing panel. The viewing panel has specified masked patterns on its front side while the back side is covered with transparent granulated matter such as shattered glass, to diffuse the incident light and provide for an even illumination of the unmasked areas.
A character for illuminated display signs comprising elements in the form of quadrangular prism and isosceles triangular prism provided with a bulb therein and engaged by interconnectors so that the bulbs are electrically connected in parallel.
A planar light emitting device has a planar light emitter. It has a layered structure composed of a transparent body and a semi-transparent body. The transparent body is made of a transparent synthetic resin containing no light scattering material. The semi-transparent body is made of a semi-transparent synthetic resin containing a light scattering material. The transparent body and the semi-transparent body are joined to form a diffusion layer therebetween. An LED array is disposed at one side ...
A luminous electric display unit is disclosed in which glass tubing containing inert gas such as neon is entirely or substantially enclosed within a protective housing, thereby providing protection both for the glass tubing and the public.
A luminant sign comprises a base including a pair of opposed casings and a image plate made of transparent acrylic resin and engaged with the base. The base has a circuit board with a plurality of illuminators disposed therein. A front face and a rear face of the image plate have a number of display areas defined thereon by peripheral grooves of pictures or words. Each display area has a plurality of reflective surfaces formed therein in directions non-parallel to the beam directions of the illu...
An illuminated grid sign designed to be viewed at a maximum viewing angle (.alpha.) from a horizontal line of sight of an observer, the sign comprising: a frame, a partially transparent face thereon, tubing mounted therein and having an inside radius (r), and a plurality of concavely-curved, reflective channels each having an angle of wrap (.beta.) and positioned at a minimum distance (d) from the luminous tubing; wherein the improvement comprises each channel being substantially semi-cylindrica...
A luminous electric display unit having glass tubing, filled with an inert gas, fully or partially enclosed within a protective housing, thereby providing protection both for the glass tubing and the public.
A device for illuminating an existing sign (100) having a specific given pattern on its front side, and a method of manufacturing such a device. A removable laminate (102) is intended to be applied to the front side of the sign, and comprises a mainly transparent cast compound or matrix (200) and a number of light emitting diodes (104) embedded in the matrix together with associated connected diode wires. The light emitting diodes are positioned in a specific pattern adapted to the existing patt...
