The use of ester quats in compositions, the ester quats producing a sand-repellent action for the compositions, comprising cosmetic compositions, and the use of these cosmetic compositions having a sand-repellent action for topical application, for example for protection of the skin against ultraviolet radiation are provided. The present application in particular relates to the use of at least one ester quat based on alkanolamines in compositions, the ester quats producing a sand-repellent actio...
Pearlescent hair conditioning composition based on a quaternary compound and a fatty alcohol, consisting of (A) 0.2 to 10 percent by weight coconut fatty acid monoethanolamide, (B) 0.4 to 10 percent by weight of a straight-chain fatty alcohol with m carbon atoms (m=14 to 18), (C) 0.1 to 4 percent by weight of a quaternary compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 =C.sub.n -alkyl (n=12-22), coconut amidoethyl, coconut amidopropyl, R'--Y (R'--C.sub.n -alkyl, Y=--O--C(O)--CH.sub.2 - or --C(O...
A hair cosmetic composition including (a) at least one compound selected from fatty acids containing a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl group having 12-40 carbon atoms, salts thereof and fatty acid esters composed of one of the fatty acids and a polyhydric alcohol; (b) at least one aromatic alcohol represented by the general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 means a hydrogen atom or a methyl or methoxy group, Y denotes a single bond or a linear or branched alkylene or alkenylene group hav...
A hair rinse composition comprising at least one succinic acid derivative and at least one quaternary ammonium salt imparts good feel and combining properties to the hair and reduces hair flying.
The present invention relates an opaque conditioner which comprises a monoalkyl quat from C16 to higher Carbon chain lengths (preferably C16 to C22) and a dialkyl quat from C20 to C22. Also included is an amount of fatty alcohol necessary to opacify the conditioner. The monoalkyl quat is necessary in a ratio to the dialkyl quat of about not less than 4:1. The fatty alcohol is present in an amount from about 1% to about 4%.
A hair cosmetic composition comprising, as components of this hair cosmetic composition, (A) a mono-long chain alkyl quaternary ammonium salt, (B) a higher alcohol having a straight alkyl group having 14 to 22 carbon atoms and (C) a high molecular weight silicone which is gelled at normal temperature, the molar ratio of (B) relative to (A) being within the range of from 3 to 15, and containing the respective components (A), (B) and (C) at specific ratios in the above cosmetic composition.
Hair conditioning emulsions providing improved detangling and combing ease and a creamy feel on wet hair are disclosed. The compositions contain water, a certain quaternary nitrogen-containing conditioning agent and about 1 to 4 weight percent polydimethyl cyclosiloxane having an atmospheric boiling point of from about 150.degree. C. to about 250.degree. C.
A stable easily removable hair rinse conditioner which provides good conditioning, styling ease, and manageability of hair, but does not build up with shampoo/anionic surfactants and is cost effective, consisting essentially of effective amounts of a dodecyl trimethyl quaternary ammonium compound, a saturated or unsaturated C.sub.14 -C.sub.22 alkanol, and a cyclic or linear silicone, in an aqueous vehicle.
A 2-in-1 conditioning shampoo includes an anionic surfactant and a cationic hair conditioning agent. The cationic hair conditioning agent is a fatty aliphatic quaternary ammonium compound having ester linkages. The cationic hair conditioning agent can be prepared by reacting an alkanol amine with a fatty acid or fatty acid ester having an aliphatic group of from about 11 to about 24 carbon atoms and thereafter quaternizing the resulting esteramine with an alkylating agent.
