A lightweight refractory is disclosed which is a shaped porous body having refractory particles and aluminous short fibers bound to each other with mullite. The crtystalline structure of the refractory is chiefly composed of mullite and corundum. The mullite content is at least 12 mol % of the sum of mullite and corundum. The refractory is substantially free of free silica.
An O-ring used in a clamp-type joint for a vacuum apparatus, which engages with a concave groove in the outer circumference edge of the center ring and is sandwiched by an outer ring having a U-shaped outer circumference, wherein the radius of the circular arc in the cross-section on the side coming into contact with the outer ring is smaller than the radius of the circular arc in the cross-section on the axial side of the joint. A clamp-type joint for the vacuum apparatus which can exhibit stab...
Use of a composition comprising a polytetrafluoroethylene resin and a fine inorganic powder for a gasket, said composition being characterized in that the polytetrafluoroethylene resin is at least 5% by weight and the fine inorganic powder is at least 40% by weight, based on the total amount of the polytetrafluoroethylene resin and the fine inorganic powder; the total amount of the polytetrafluoroethylene resin and the fine inorganic powder is at least 80% by weight based on the entire amount of...
A molding material of a mixture of 0.1-7 wt % of alkali-resistant zirconia glass fibers of 3-25 mm length, 20-60 wt % of wollastonite fibers, and 40-80 wt % of calcium aluminate cement.
The present invention provides an improved compositional material for a low melting point metal casting equipment and a method for producing the same, wherein said composition does not cause large cracks during operation even if there is a reduction in its physical strength resulting from the non-use of reinforcing asbestos fiber. This material actually has a durability equivalent to/or greater than that of products reinforced with asbestos fiber.
Elastic foamed products or articles having a much better heat resistance than that of the asbestos fiber foamed mass, prepared by drying of an aqueous fiber-dispersed slurry retaining bubbles and consisting essentially of inorganic fibers, synthetic fluormica of the non-restrictive swelling type and surface active agents. In the elastic foamed products, the inorganic fibers having films of the fluormica formed therebetween are evenly entangled with each other, said films having bubbles retained ...
A squeak preventing shim for a disk brake for an automobile has a squeak preventing effect, even if no lubricant is used, and also prevents decreased durability due to buckling, flow, etc. A shim construction is formed with a plurality of grooves or recesses in rubber layers 2 disposed on two surfaces of a metal plate in a rubber coated member. Owing to these grooves or recesses, apparent transversal elastic modulus of the rubber layers is lowered and a squeak preventing effect due to vibration ...
A process for preparing silica gel is disclosed. The silica gel is produced by immersing a base in silica sol, drying the impregnated base in a mixed solution of an alkali silicate and an alkali hydroxide, removing the impregnated base form the mixed solution, heating the impregnated base, and subsequently treating the impregnated base with an acid. A sufficient amount of silica gel for use as a dehumidifying element can be produced through a single series of treatments.
A VOC concentrating apparatus includes a honeycomb rotor. In order to lower concentration at an exit of adsorption and at the same time to be able to regulate the amount of air flow introduced into a desorbing zone, independently from the amount of cooling air, there are disposed a cooling zone, desorbing zone and an adsorbing zone in the honeycomb rotor. The honeycomb rotor rotates and thus passes through the zones one after another. After gas to be treated has passed through the adsorbing zone...
A vibration and heat insulating board fixed so as to cover at least part of a heat source while forming a gap against the heat source surface, in order to lessen diffusion of heat from the heat source fixed in a vibration source, in which the heat source and the vibration and heat insulating board are coupled by means of a collar member having a pair of locking pieces fitted to the vibration and heat insulating board main body and bolted to a mounting part of the heat source, and ring-shaped coi...
