An interface is provided for connecting a standard telephone line and/or a standard facsimile machine with a distributive communication network interface such as a personal computer, whereby facsimile signal present on the telephone line or at the facsimile machine may be transmitted via the Internet to a remote station without the use of long distance or international telephone signal carriers. The facsimile signal may be sent or received via the network using the network, without interfering w...
The subject invention provides a bow string release mechanism over and under bow string retaining jaws and an axial adjustment mechanism for altering the distance of the jaws from a wrist strap. The release mechanism generally comprises a release mechanism, a wrist strap, and a rotatable shaft assembly joining the release mechanism and the wrist strap, wherein the axial distance between release mechanism and the wrist strap can be adjusted by axial rotation of the shaft assembly. The release mec...
A method for configuring the data stream of an electronic transmission in order to minimize the amount of data lost due to the interruption of transmissions, incorporating the use of a buffer at the receiving station to collect data as it is received, and an "information packet" in combination with the typical "sync" signal to define what data is part of the transmitted data. The information packet defines, among other things, how much data preceeds and follows the sync signal. This permits the ...
A stripping composition which does not contain methylene chloride or methyl ethyl ketone is comprised of 25% acetone, 16% toluene, 25% ethyl 3 ethoxypropionate, 30% methanol and 4% paraffin wax sealer. The stripping composition may be thickened with Methocel 311. The presence of methanol in the composition greatly enhances the stripping effects of ethyl 3 ethoxypropionate and the thickening effects of Methocel 311. The composition is suitable for application in a number of forms including as a s...
A bowsting release has a single movable jaw that overlaps the outer end of a fixed jaw in order to retain a bowstring rather than utilizing an abutment surface on the fixed jaw. The bowstring release includes a fully calibrated trigger. The string retaining member is of a contoured, tapered configuration, permitting a sensitive trigger adjustment. The string is retained at the very tip of the fixed jaw, assuring a minimum of interference with the string as it is released from the mechanism.
A support belt has a back support pad and an abdominal support pad for supporting both the back and abdomen during strenuous activity. The support pads are secured to one another by belt side portions which are of a vertical height which provides clearance between the ribs and hips of the wearer, maximizing abdominal and back support with a minimum of discomfort. Utility rings may be secured to the belt for attaching harnesses and the like to assist with support during strenuous activity.
A method to produce arrays of compounds for concurrent testing is described. Two formats are described using porous rods or porous sheet materials. In one format the compounds of the array are immobilized to porous rod elements. In the second format the compounds are immobilized as lines on a sheet of porous material. In both cases, a bundle is formed by radial compression of the rods or spiral wrapping of the sheet. A sheath is applied to the bundle and arrays are cut as slabs. Each synthesis o...
A bow string release strap assembly is adapted to wrap around the hand while providing maximum freedom of movement for the thumb and protection of the index or trigger finger from a rubbing or chaffing action. The strap assembly includes an integral attachment strap which permits ease of placement and attachment of the strap assembly to the wrist and hand, with a quick release mechanism. The thumb and palm are free and unencumbered and the back of the hand is covered with a soft, cushioned pad p...
The protocol scheme of a destination or receiving station is identified by a source or sending station in order to permit automatic reformatting of the source data into a compatible format and protocol scheme before transmission is initiated. The destination protocol is logged in the source system so that the protocol can thereafter be determined by destination address. The scheme is also capable of determining the protocol and format of the sending station, selecting the appropriate protocol an...
An apparatus for performing operations on an offshore well includes a subsea wellhead assembly. A riser extends from the subsea wellhead assembly to a surface vessel. A tool connects to a running string and is lowered through the riser into the wellhead assembly for performing operations at the wellhead assembly. A subsea controller is located adjacent the subsea wellhead assembly. The subsea controller controls the operation of the tool. A surface controller is positioned on the surface vessel,...
