A filter comprising a charge-coupled device having a first group of cells weighted according to a recurring filter law and having a second group of cells weighted according to a non recurring filter law. The cells of the first and second groups are interposed alternately and the displacement of the charges under these cells is carried at frequency twice that of the sampling rate of the input signal. Thus the effects of transfer inefficiency are suppressed without added hardware.
In a falling film evaporator for separating or concentrating liquids, drops from the evaporator tubes fall onto and between parallel inclined baffle plates provided below said tubes and the inlet for a hot airstream, the inclined baffle plates minimizing the disintegration of the drops into smaller droplets and, by shielding them from said hot airstream, minimizing entrainment of said smaller droplets back up said tubes by said hot airstream.
A balance weight for balancing vehicle wheels comprising a weight portion and a separate holding clip which is adapted to engage the weight portion in any of a number of radial positions with respect to the wheel and to also engage a rim flange upon the vehicle wheel to thereby attach the weight portion to the wheel. A tool is provided for applying the weight to the rim flange which applies diametrically opposed forces to the rim flange and the weight and also applies a third force, perpendicula...
There is provided a valve spindle having a closure portion for occluding a fluid passage within a valve body. The spindle has an annular portion which is deformable by application of pressure thereto, and distending means are located within the spindle for distending the deformable portion radially outwards to contact the inner wall of the valve body and form a gland seal. The outer surfaces of the deformable portion and of the closure portion form a continuous unitary outer surface composed of ...
A terpolyamide, formed from reactants polymerized in the presence of the equivalent of at least 3.0 mole percent of a monofunctional acid or basic stabilizer, is melt spun into filaments which are subsequently cold drawn. 4 Claims, No Drawings
A safety valve comprising a piston slidably engaged within a bore for a housing and having releasable retaining means holding the piston against the effect of pressurized fluid, and further means responsive to a precalculated change of pressure to release the retaining means and release the fluid.
A radiation detector comprises a slab of semi-conductor material having a p-i-n structure with ribs formed on opposite sides of the slabs, in p-i and n-i junctions lying within the ribs. The ribs on one side of the slab are so aligned as to traverse those on the other side of the body.
The present invention is directed to the novel fungicidal compositions containing 2-isoxazolin-5 and one method using the same. 20 Claims, No Drawings
Tuberculin protein (hereinafter referred to as "PPD-S" in such a sense as a purified protein derivative) combined with glucuronic acid has less side effect and is chemically stable. The PPD-S combined with glucuronic acid is prepared by treating PPD-S with glucuronic acid metal salt, such as sodium glucuronate or potassium glucuronate, or with glucuronolactone. 4 Claims, No Drawings
A device for sensing the foam-filled gap between successive discrete bottom facing sheets of a moving continuous foam laminate, the device comprising a long reference feeler and a short penetrating feeler spring against and monitoring the under surface of the laminate, the penetrating feeler being adapted to spring upwardly into the foam-filled gap thereby moving relatively to the reference feeler, means for detecting such relative motion and, after a predetermined delay, for actuating cross-cut...
