A laminate is composed of alternate layers of electrically conductive and electrically nonconductive carbonizable, millable elastomeric compositions, wherein the difference in resistivity between adjacent alternate layers is at least 10.sup.8 ohm-cm. The conductive layer contains a substantial amount of electrically conductive furnace carbon black while the elastomer in the nonconductive layer is compounded with a low moisture content silica. The laminate, when connected to an electric current a...
A voltage and current regulated circuit operative to supply sinusoidal high-frequency (28 kilohertz) electrical power which meets both the starting and running requirements of a gaseous discharge lamp without mechanical switching means or saturable reactors.
Convertible securement apparatus for a flatbed vehicle such as a trailer unit. Dual purpose pedestal has a twist lock for the corner casting of a standard transportation container; and a winch for a tiedown chain for miscellaneous cargo. A special channel is fixed to the side of the vehicle bed. A hinge pin is connected to the pedestal by a narrow link and is loosely retained in an elongated hinge pin retaining space extending along the interior of the channel. The pedestal is movable fore and a...
Hospital bed with two actuating screws, one for Hi-Low and the other for spring head section, with selectively operable control for interconnecting thigh section for operation with head section by interengagement of slotted link with pin head operating mechanism. Spring connects control member to link to prevent disengagement of link from pin by control member unless head section is in horizontal position.
A subject of the invention is the compounds of formula (I): ##STR1## R.sub.1.dbd.H, OH, alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl optionally substituted or alkoxy, R.sub.2.dbd.H, Hal, R.sub.3.dbd.H, alkyl, Hal, ##STR2## Rg and Rh: H, alkyl, aryl heterocycle, R.sub.5.dbd.H or O-alkyl, R.sub.6.dbd.alkyl or CH.sub.2 --O-alkyl, R.sub.7.dbd.H or alkyl. The compounds of formula (I) have antibiotic properties.
The invention proposes a switchable finger lever (1) comprising a fork-shaped outer lever (2) between whose arms (3a, 3b) a fork-shaped inner lever (4) is arranged for pivoting relative thereto. The outer lever (2) comprises on an underside (6) in the region of its one closed end (7), a support (8) for the gas exchange valve. The inner lever (4) comprises on the underside (6) on the opposite end (9), a complementary surface (10) for a support element, and on the side of the one end (7), a cam co...
An anti-diarrhea composition comprises diarrhea symptom-reducing amounts of a powdered absorptive material capable of absorbing pathogenic intestinal bacteria, a sodium salt, a potassium salt and a sugar. The absorptive material may be Smectite or mormoiron attapulgite. The salts are preferably NaCl and KCl, with NaHCO.sub.3 also being present. Suitable sugars are glucose and dextrose. The composition may also contain a suspending agent, a coloring agent, a flavoring agent and a sweetening agent...
The desulfurization agent for molten iron is made up of 95 to 70% commercial calcium carbide, 30 to 5% calcium aluminate slag, and 10 to 0% of a metal oxide. The calcium aluminate slag is made up of 65 to 50% calcium oxide, 35 to 25% aluminum oxide, and 12 to 3% calcium fluoride. The metal oxides are ferric oxide, manganomanganic oxide and ferrosoferric oxide. The desulfurizing agent has been found to reduce the amount of calcium carbide in the resulting slag.
The method for treating the dust entails the following steps: (a) supplying a combination of dust, a reducing agent and flux to a gastight electrothermic smelting furnace, (b) smelting, reducing and volatilizing certain metals in the smelting furnace, (c) tapping of an inert slag phase and a liquid metal phase from the smelting furnace, (d) continuous removal from the smelting furnace of a gas phase containing chiefly CO-gas, metal fumes, sulphur, chlorides and fluorides together with entrained ...
The golf ball product is made from two polybutadienes, each having a Mooney viscosity of below about 50 and a cis-1,4 content of greater than about 40%. One polybutadiene is nickel- or cobalt-catalyzed, while the other is lanthanide-catalyzed. The golf ball product includes a mix of the two polybutadienes, a metal salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and a free radical initiator.
