The composition of the present invention includes a water-soluble soldering flux requiring no thermal energy to place the water-soluble flux in an active state. The water-soluble soldering flux contains (1) from about 1 percent to about 5 percent by weight, based on the weight of the water-soluble soldering flux, of an inorganic acid which, in solution, forms anions of the acid having a low propensity for forming metal complexes; (2) from about 30 percent to about 70 percent by weight, based on ...
A latch system is provided having utility in securing a door or planar member in a fixed position within a housing having a portal. The portal includes a defined periphery with a plurality of apertures therein. The planar member is pivotally mounted adjacent the portal. A rotatable member is mounted adjacent to the planar member. The latch system also includes a plurality of elongate members, each of the elongate members having a first end adapted to slidably enter an associated aperture and a s...
The present invention includes a system for monitoring surface structures on a planar surface utilizing a radiation source emitting a beam. The planar surface has various surface structure types, including a plurality of grooves therein which intersect at various angles which are equal to or less than a predetermined maximum angle. The system includes an apparatus for directing the beam to the planar surface along an optical axis perpendicular to the planar surface resulting in radiation being s...
A process is disclosed for treating an aqueous waste stream containing a photoresist waste component. Under this process the pH of the waste stream is adjusted in a range from about 4.0 to about 6.0 and an additive is added to the waste stream in a concentration effective to separate a precipitant from the waste solution in the form of a non-sticky residue. The additive is selected from the group consisting of FeCl.sub.3, CuCl.sub.2, NH.sub.4 Cl, AlCl.sub.3, and combinations thereof.
A method and system for increasing efficiency in the display of characters on a display within a data processing system, wherein the data processing system includes a system memory and a graphics adapter, the system memory having a page mode. A plurality of characters are stored in the system memory as a plurality of glyph bitmaps. Each character has a width, and each glyph bitmap for a character is arranged as a plurality of scanlines such that each of the scanlines includes the width of the ch...
A bifocal contact lens is provided having a posterior surface that is formed to fit a human cornea and an anterior surface. The bifocal contact lens has an upper portion and a lower portion when viewed in a planar view. The anterior surface includes a distance vision surface and a near vision surface. The distance vision surface is substantially semicircular in form and located in the upper portion of the bifocal lens. A near vision surface is disposed within the lower portion of the bifocal con...
A method and apparatus for providing visual cues on a display within a data processing system. An animated cross hair having a center that coincides with the cursor hot spot is displayed, wherein attention of a viewer of the animated cross hair is drawn to the cursor hot spot by the animated cross hair.
A method and apparatus provides initializing a data processing system within a distributed data processing system. The data processing system receives data wherein the data is used to initialize the data processing system. The data processing system saves an image within the data processing system in a selected state after initialization of the data processing system, wherein the image is a saved image. The data processing system restores to the state using the saved image.
A method and apparatus for sending data from a first data processing system to a second data processing system in a distributed data processing system. A communications link is established between the first data processing system and the second data processing system, wherein the first data processing system receives identification information, such as caller identification information in the form of a telephone number and/or user name, as parts of the establishment of the communications link. D...
A method of managing a plurality of windows organized and displayed on the graphical user interface of a computer. At any given time, one of the plurality of windows has a focus on the graphical user interface and a remainder of the windows are at least partly obscured behind the window having the focus. The method begins by displaying a graphical control device on the GUI, The graphical control device preferably has a plurality of identifiers each of which is associated with a given one of the ...
