We describe a system and method to merge and align data from distributed memory controllers. A memory system includes a command bus to transmit a predetermined memory access command, and a memory interface to manipulate data from at least two memory channels, each memory channel corresponding to a portion of a distributed memory, responsive to the predetermined memory access command. The memory interface includes a plurality of memory controllers coupled to the command bus, each memory controlle...
An optical transmitter converts serial hi-vision digital signals sent from a transmitting side peripheral device over a coaxial cable into serial digital optical signals to transmit the resulting signals over an optical fiber. An optical receiver receives the serial digital optical signals sent from the optical transmitter over the optical fiber to convert the signals into serial hi-vision digital signals to transmit the converted signals over a receiving side coaxial cable to a receiving side p...
A mixed carbonate ester of a quinophthalone dye and a tertiary alkanol containing not more than about 9 carbon atoms, preferably a compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein X is a sulfur atom or a carbonyl group; each Y independently is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a --CO--OR.sup.4 or a --CO--NHR.sup.4 group, wherein R.sup.4 is an alkyl group containing not more than about 10 carbon atoms; R is a hydrogen atom or an --O--C(.dbd.O)--O--CR.sup.5 R.sup.6 R.sup.7 group; and R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.s...
A hardware-implemented N-way dynamic link list is disclosed. The linked list memory structure comprises two basic parts for each stored location (entry)--a data element and pointer to the next element. Separate memory components provide a data organization that efficiently accesses any of N queues.
A method of processing image information is disclosed, for detecting the movement of an object with a simplifed system structure, and high speed treatment. The method is comprised of the steps of entry of a stereoscopic image of an object, extraction of edges of the object, and dividing it into segments based on the local feature of the image. On each segment, tracing points (sampling points) are selected, the inter-frame correlation of selected points is obtained, the three-dimensional coordina...
Methods of inserting data in parallel into a partitioned data storage object are disclosed. Multiple processes are used to insert the data, and multiple processes may insert data into the same partition at the same time. Write conflicts are avoided through use of buffers and a brokering scheme to manage the data flows into the partitioned data storage object. Also disclosed are methods to optimize the size of the buffers to minimize bottlenecks.
Assuming that there are three continuous frames, i.e, cross sectional images of an organism, a dummy region of interest (ROI) is specified manually in the first frame, a temporary ROI is set in the second frame at the same position as that of the dummy ROI in the first frame. Whether a specific region in the second frame is inside or outside of a true ROI is judged based on the initial judgment criterion and values of pixels in the specific region. Whether a specific region in the third frame is...
An end of a selected bit line in a selected column is electrically coupled to an end of a corresponding current return line by one of first and second write column select gates, which are selectively turned on in response to results of column selection. A data write circuit sets the other end of the selected bit line and the other end of the current return line to one and the other of a power supply voltage and a ground voltage in accordance with a level of write data via one of first and second...
A dynamic block transfer size adjustment mechanism independently defines block transfer size for each memory portion, which may include files in a file system, virtual storage segments in a memory system, or extents in physical storage. By specifying block transfer size for a memory portion independently from other memory portions, the performance of the computer system may be enhanced. In addition, the block transfer size of one or more memory portions may be dynamically adjusted according to h...
A data structure, method and system are provided incorporating a general purpose memory allocator and defensive heap memory manager. This provides an ability to reliably detect various types of memory errors, dynamically enable or disable memory debugging, enhance success of read and write operations using various memory verification techniques. Further, through separation of control information associated with allocated and free chunks of memory from the chunks themselves (separation of metadat...
