A storage case (13) is intended for a magnetic-tape cassette of a type comprising a housing (1) having a U-shaped slide (7) which is arranged on the outside of the housing (1) so as to be slidable along a bottom wall (2) with a main portion (7) and along two facing side walls (4,5) of the housing (1) with two side portions (7b,7c). The side portions (7b,7c) extend from the main portion (7a) up to substantially half the height of the side walls (4,5). In a closed position of the cassette a rear e...
Sleeve fabricating apparatus for fabricating cylindrical sleeves from rectangular blanks of a heat-shrinkable thermoplastic material and for transferring the sleeves, in succession, to frustoconical mandrels of a cup-forming machine. The sleeve-fabricating apparatus has a plurality of cylindrical mandrels that are rotatably affixed to a rotary turret. The sleeves are fabricated from rectangular blanks that are cut, in succession, from a web of indefinite length as the web is being unwound from a...
An apparatus and method for forming a hem on a 5.sup.th panel of a liquid carton blank comprising a skiving section, a stepped creaser section, a burner section, a vacuum hemmer section, and a sealer section. Carton blanks are fed into the skiver section and exit from the sealer section at a high rate of speed. The final folding step in the process is performed by a vacuum hemmer which comprises a belt with holes for pulling a vacuum to securely hold the carton blank during the second and final ...
A polymeric film having a plurality of perforations, which are specially structured and arranged is described. The polymeric film provides a strong, high-tensile strength material that permits hand tearing of the film along a desired tear path, providing a controlled tear propagation line. The polymeric film may also be incorporated into a multi-layer film having cloth-like properties of strength and tear propagation, and is suitable for use various adhesive tape applications. Methods of making ...
A polymerizate slurry obtained through a reaction of an alkali sulfide source and an aromatic dihalide compound in an organic polar solvent and comprising polyarylene sulfide particles, a by-produced alkali metal salt and the polar organic solvent, is continuously contacted countercurrently with a washing liquid, thereby continuously and efficiently recovering washed polyarylene sulfide particles. Furthermore, the by-produced alkali metal salt is removed, and the polar organic solvent is recover...
A conveyor belt cleaning apparatus includes a debris-removal stage, a washing stage, a rinsing stage, and a water removal stage all positioned in a multi-chambered drawer with each of the four stages is provided with an isolated bin within that drawer. The various stages within the conveyor belt cleaning apparatus provide for the continuous or on-demand cleaning of a conveyor belt in order to remove any debris and fluids from the belt thereby providing a clean belt surface for use by the grocery...
There is provided a polymer scale deposition preventive agent, comprising an alkaline solution of a condensation product having a molecular weight of 500 to 1,000,000 obtained by condensing a dimer compound of 2,3-dihydroxynaphthalene with formaldehyde. By polymerizing vinyl chloride or a monomer mixture containing vinyl chloride in a polymerization vessel wherein a coating film made of said polymer scale deposition preventive agent has been formed on the inner wall surface and the like, polymer...
A gable-top carton has a pair of panels (4, 6) which form sloping walls and have marginal portions (4m, 6m). Another pair of panels (3m, 5m), are tucked beneath the sloping walls and have marginal portions (3m, 5m). The marginal portions (3m-6m) are heat sealed together to form a ridge-shaped seal. One panel (5) is the pouring spout panel and this is revealed when wings (9, 10), on the sealed carton are folded back. The pouring spout panel (5) is secured by a bond (34) made in a central folded c...
A container comprises a sleeve and two end walls. The sleeve is made of a tube having a plurality of paper layers. The end walls are inserted into the sleeve and are bonded in a sealed way thereto. According to the present invention, each of the end walls has a rim which projects outwards, around which rim the tube is bent and bonded by means of heat sealing. A stable, sealed bonding is thus obtained, whereby the application of different materials for the end walls is possible.
This invention relates to a method for attaching a flexible cord handle on a bag comprising the steps of: forming a pair of apertures through a baa wall, providing at least one substantially planar obstruction member with at least one cord receiving passageway therethrough, passing at least one free end of a flexible cord through one of said apertures and into a respective cord receiving passageway of the obstruction member, and fixing the free end of the cord to the obstruction member by deform...
