The present invention relates to pigment preparations comprising polyamide particles with an average particle size of below 50 .mu.m and a pigment of an average particle size below 0.2 .mu.m. The inventive pigment preparations are useful for coloring high molecular weight material, like coatings, inks and in particular plastics like polyvinyl chloride, polyamide, polyester, polycarbonate and, especially polyamide fibers.
The disclosure relates to the use of conditioned organic pigments as stir-in pigments in various applications. The conditioned pigments are prepared by wet-milling a pigment crude to a particle size of 0.1 to 9 .mu.m and a specific surface area in the range of from 6 to 35 m.sup.2 /g.
Disclosed is a process for coloring high-molecular-weight coatings and ink systems which comprises uniformly dispersing an effective pigmenting amount of a stir-in pigment in the coating or ink system; wherein the stir-in pigment is an organic pigment crude consisting essentially of non-platelet-shaped particles having an average particle size of from 0.5 to 25 .mu.m and/or a pigment composition consisting essentially of an organic pigment having an average particle size of from 0.01 to 25 .mu.m...
The present invention relates to black pigment compositions comprising (a) carbon black, and (b) a compound of the formula (MO.sub.3S).sub.m-Q(CH.sub.2).sub.k--X].sub.n, (I) wherein Q is a pigment or pigment intermediate radical selected from the group of anthraquinone, perinone, perylene, diketopyrrolopyrrole, thioindigo, iminoisoindoline, iminoisoindolinone, quinacridone, 6,13-dihydroquinacridone, flavanthrone, dioxazine, indanthrone, anthrapyrimidine and quinophthalone, X is a cyclo hetero al...
An alpha-II form of a 1,4-diketo-3,6-di(4'-tertiary butyl phenyl)-2,5-dihydro pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole pigment characterized by C.I.E color space values, particularly a high chroma value and yellow hue, in masstone, and a process for its preparation is disclosed. The 1,4-diketo-3,6-di(4'-tertiary butyl phenyl)-2,5-dihydro pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole pigment is especially useful for coloring coating compositions, such as automotive paints, and plastics.
