An improved method for synthesizing a double metal cyanide (DMC) catalyst is disclosed. The method combines an aqueous solution of a first metal salt, such as ZnCl.sub.2, with an aqueous solution of a second metal salt, such as CoCl.sub.2, and with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal cyanide, such as KCN, in a single step to synthesize the DMC catalyst, Zn.sub.3 [Co(CN).sub.6 ].sub.2.
Improved methods for synthesizing double metal cyanide (DMC) catalysts are disclosed. These methods combine an aqueous solution of a first metal salt, such as ZnCl.sub.2, with an aqueous solution of a second metal salt, such as CoCl.sub.2, and with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal cyanide, such as KCN, in different manners to synthesize DMC catalysts, such as Zn.sub.3 [Co(CN).sub.6 ].sub.2.
A process for preparing unsaturated nitriles of the formula I ##STR1## where R, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each independently of one another alkyl or alkenyl each having 1-20 carbon atoms or cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl each having 3-12 carbon atoms and any two of the radicals R, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be part of a saturated or unsaturated ring and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may also be hydrogen and n is 0 or 1-20, by dehydration of oximes of the formula II ##STR2## where R, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and n are as d...
Polyetherpolyols are prepared by reacting diols or polyols with ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, butylene oxide or a mixture thereof in the presence of a multimetal cyanide complex catalyst by a process which is carried out in a vertical, highly cylindrical reactor having a central stirrer and having heat exchanger plates through which a heat-exchange medium flows and which are arranged essentially in the longitudinal direction of the reactor, at an angle .alpha. of from 0 to 70.degree. in the d...
The present invention relates to a process for reacting epoxides with an initiator compound in the presence of a double metal cyanide compound as a catalyst, said process having a shortened induction period, and the double metal cyanide compound being activated by adding the epoxide to a mixture of double metal cyanide compound and initiator compound at an internal reactor pressure of less than 1 bar, and also to the polyethers themselves obtainable by such a process.
A process for producing a shaped body comprising at least one porous oxidic material and at least one metal oxide comprises the following step (i): (i) mixing the porous oxidic material or materials with at least one metal oxide sol which has a low content of alkali metal and alkaline earth metal ions and/or at least one metal oxide which has a low content of alkali metal and alkaline earth metal ions.
A process for preparing glycol monoethers from olefins comprises reacting the olefins with an epoxidizing reagent in the simultaneous presence of hydroxyl-containing organic compounds over a mixture of epoxidation catalysts and alkoxylation catalysts.
Glyceric acid compounds of the formula (I) where R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are independently hydrogen, C.sub.1-12 -alkyl, C.sub.6-12 -aryl, C.sub.7-13 -alkaryl or C.sub.7-13 -aralkyl and X is hydrogen, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal/2 or NH.sub.4, are prepared by saponification of glycidic acid compounds of the formula (II) ##STR1## where Y is NH.sub.2 or OR.sup.4 in which R.sup.4 is C.sub.1-12 -alkyl or C.sub.7-13 -aralkyl, with ring-opening addition of water onto the epoxide ring....
In a process for oxidizing an organic compound containing at least one C--C double bond, or a mixture of two or more thereof, which comprises the step (II) below: (II) reaction of the organic compound or the mixture of two or more thereof with a medium comprising molecular oxygen in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst, the medium further comprises carbon monoxide (CO).
A method of forming a polyethercarbonate polyol using a multimetal cyanide compound is disclosed. The method includes providing a multimetal cyanide compound having a crystalline structure and a content of platelet-shaped particles of at least 30% by weight, based on the weight of the multimetal cyanide compound and further including at least two of the following components: an organic complexing agent, water, a polyether, and a surface-active substance. Then an alcohol initiator is reacted with...
