A level system for accurately and efficiently providing a levelness measurement. The level system includes a container positionable within a frame structure for retaining a volume of liquid, a upper compartment within an upper portion of the container for retaining a buoyant member, a first paddle and a second paddle pivotally attached within the container about the buoyant member, and an indicator member attached to the paddles for indicating a levelness or plumbness of a structure. As the buoy...
An item identified by a location code is tracked through a transport image in a process controller (48). The transport image is characterized by input data to the specific construction of tracker units (32, 34). Location codes for each item are received by the process controller 48 and tracked by a service routine (152) to set a divert flag or an inject flag (172). Each location code is advanced through sections of the transport image by an INCH routine (200). When the location code matches a po...
An electronic throttle assembly uses a torque motor and mechanical system to position the throttle. The assembly is configured to keep the throttle slightly open during times of electrical power failure to the torque motor. Inherent electromagnetic qualities of the torque motor provide a reluctance torque that varies depending on internal stator/rotor geometry and is present in the absence of electrical power to the motor. A mechanical system provides a counter torque. Aligning the throttle to t...
Signals from a balanced processor are sampled at a constant rate, integra and then divided by the number of samples. Two averages are obtained: a positive half cycle average and a negative half cycle average. Over a long period, clutter contributions tend to cancel. Target dominance is thus enhanced by integrating over half cycles rather than full cycles. A single cycle bias finder adds half cycle averages to obtain a cycle bias. The single cycle bias is fed to the moving average integrator wher...
Method for producing a reactively sputtered conducting transparent metal oxide film onto a continuous web moving in a sputtering chamber at a distance past a metal target. The target is arranged in combination with a counterelectrode powered such that a sputtering plasma discharge is generated inside the sputtering chamber transferring metal atoms from the target to the moving web. Oxygen is introduced into said chamber containing a low pressure atmosphere of an inert gas to produce a metal oxid...
Sedimentary mica flakes are produced having a bulk density of between about five and one-half pounds per cubic feet and eight pounds per cubic feet (5.5-11 lbs/ft.sup.3), a high aspect ratio, and a G.E. brightness between about seventy-five and ninety (75-90). Operations include applying shear forces to delaminate the mica into flakes. Shear forces are applied by rotating a plurality of arcuate blades within a confined chamber containing the mica, such that the mica is forced between an outer po...
The movable contact arm of a circuit breaker is mounted on a pivot pin by a slot which extends generally transverse to the longitudinal arm of the contact arm, so that when the contacts are welded, initial motion of the circuit breaker operating mechanism to open the contacts is translated into pivoting of the contact arm about, and thereby breaking the weld. In a circuit breaker in which the contact arm is coupled to the operating mechanism through a cam mechanism which allows the contact arm t...
A method of papermaking in which a wet paper web is supported on press felt and passed through the nip between cooperating press rolls to extract water from the web. The felt, supporting the paper web, then travels through a span of distance and is passed around a heated dryer roll in the dryer section with the felt being interposed between the heated roll and the paper web. The felt is thus heated and insulates the paper web from the high temperature roll. The paper web is separated from the fe...

A controlled release method for a submergible completion is disclosed wherein upper and lower interface assemblies are separated from one another in a predictable manner. A separation or release assembly is actuated remotely for forcing the interface assemblies apart. The release assembly may shear pins extending between portions of the interface assemblies. The interface assemblies may include multi-conductor electrical plugs or connectors which are separated during release.
