This device consists primarily of an assembly having lever means, barium supply means, valve means, piston means, squeeze bulb means and other components for providing a control system of barium in combination with air contrast for employment in the examination of patients.
This invention relates to a method of inhibiting the growth of barium sulfate scaling by using a synergistic blend of (a) a polyphosphate with degree of polymerization between 6 and 21, and (b) a polyphosphate with degree of polymerization of 2-3 in a weight ratio of 3:1 to 1:2. The blend further includes a phosphino-acrylic polymer.
A radiological contrast product comprising a non-toxic radiopaque salt selected from the group consisting of barium titanate and barium zirconate and a method for conducting radiological examinations of the gastro-intestinal tract of a mammal with said product is disclosed herein.
Micronized barium sulfate (BaSO.sub.4) and methods for the production and use thereof. The micronized barium sulfate of the invention is particularly suitable for use as an additive or filler for adhesives, colorants, rubber articles and/or cosmetics.
The present invention provides a method of making barium titanate powder. The method includes adding barium acetate to a solution of oxalic acid and titanium oxychloride to form barium titanyl oxalate and then calcining the barium titanyl oxalate to obtain barium titanate powder.
Production of barium carbonate by treatment of barium sulfate with an excess of an aqueous sodium carbonate solution under pressure and at temperatures higher than 100.degree. C. The starting material is an aqueous barium sulfate suspension which contains sodium carbonate together with a phosphorus compound dissolved therein.
A portable and selectively positionable swallow board is provided. The swallow board includes a substantially rigged seat portion. A substantially back portion is positionable with respect to the seat portion to a first position in which a seat portion and the back portion are aligned to support a patient in a supine position. A support mechanism is in operative communication with the back portion to secure the back portion in at least one second position at an angle less than 180.degree., and a...
Low tack dry-spun spandex containing barium sulfate of low isoelectric point is provided.
A barium magnesium aluminate phosphor having improved maintenance and efficiency is provided. The novel phosphor is suitable for use in conventional fluorescent lamp applications and applications utilizing VUV excitation, including Xe excimer lamps and plasma display panels.
Barium oxide is used as an ethoxylation catalyst for the reaction of ethylene oxide and alkanols of all classes. The reaction is carried out at temperatures of from about 200.degree. to about 500.degree. F. to yield the ethoxylated product. The product obtained has a very narrow, high adduct distribution with low levels of by-products and unreacted free alcohols. Calcium and magnesium oxides show no catalytic effect.
