A beaded black containing at least one pelletizing additive and at least one synthetic oil. The beaded black can be produced in a pelletizing machine and used as a filler and/or pigment in rubber and plastic articles and as a pigment for the production of printing inks.
Carbon blacks doped with elements that are not carbon, wherein pairs of carbon atoms have been replaced by iso-electronic pairs of elements or combinations of elements. They can be used as a pigment or filler in rubber, plastics, paints, inks or the like.
The present invention is directed to carbon blacks having organic groups. The organic groups are connected by one or two carbon atoms of a C--C single bond or double bond that are not a component of an aromatic system, contain at least one activating substituent on at least one carbon atom of the C--C single bond or double bond and contain no cyclic C.sub.3 structure or 2,3-diazabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene. The invention includes methods of producing these carbon blacks in which black is reacted wi...
Carbon black characterized by a STSA surface of between 20 and 180 m.sup.2 /g, a 24M4-DBP absorption of between 40 and 140 ml/100 g, a specific BET surface of between 20 and 250 m.sup.2 /g, a content of 0.01 to 20 wt. % of silicon, referred to its overall weight, and a tan .delta..sub.0 /tan .delta..sub.60 ratio greater than 3.37-0.0068 STSA is produced by mixing silicon-containing compounds with the carbon black raw materials in the oxidative pyrolysis of the carbon black raw materials and opti...
Carbon black having organic groups, the organic group containing a thiocyanate group. Also described is a process for the production of the carbon black, wherein carbon black is reacted with organic compounds containing a C--C double or triple bond, which is not part of an aromatic system, whose C--C double or triple bond is activated by at least one substituent, and the organic compound contains at least one thiocyanate group. The carbon black according to the invention can be used in rubber co...
A black toner comprising a resin binder; and a black colorant comprising a composite oxide of two or more metals and at least one of a blue dye or pigment and a green dye or pigment. The black toner can be suitably used for the development of a latent image formed in electrophotography, electrostatic recording method, electrostatic printing method or the like.
A black toner comprises a binder resin and black composite particles having an average particle diameter of 0.005 to 0.30 .mu.m, and comprising: extender pigments as core particles; a gluing agent-coating layer formed on surface of the respective core particles; and a black pigment coat uniformly formed on the gluing agent-coating layer in an amount of 1 to 500 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the extender pigments. Such a black toner using black composite particles having not onl...
A carbon black having a ratio of a maximum absorbance in a range of 1800 to 1670 cm.sup.-1 to a maximum absorbance in a range of 1670 to 1500 cm.sup.-1 of not less than 0.65 on condition that a straight line interconnecting the absorbances at 1805 cm.sup.-1 and 900 cm.sup.-1 is taken as a base line in an absorbance chart of infrared absorption spectrum.
There is provided a method of manufacturing a color display including a color filter and a black matrix, characterized in that it comprises the steps of: forming a film of zinc oxide on a transparent substrate; forming the the color filter on the said film of zinc oxide; and thereafter, applying a deposit of electroless copper plating on an area of the said film of zinc oxide on which the said color filter is not formed, the said deposit having a thickness which is substantially equal to a thick...
Oxygenated furnace black products are disclosed which have a particle size of at least 15 millimicrons, a dibutylphthalate absorption (DBP) not exceeding 120 c.c./100 gms., a nitrogen surface area of at least 450 m.sup.2 /gm., and an oxygen content of at least 4 weight percent. These products can be produced by treating a furnace carbon black feedstock with an oxidizing agent, such as nitric acid, in order to substantially increase the volatile and the oxygen content of the black.
