A housing and ejection mechanism for PCMCIA electronic "smart cards" is disclosed. The ejection mechanism comprises a pair of cooperating lever arms and springs. When a "smart card" is inserted into the housing, the two lever arms pivot into the housing, extending an ejection spring. As the spring is pulled back by means of the lever arms, insertion of the card requires only slightly more force than would be needed to connect a "smart card" with its socket were no spring present. Full insertion ...
An ejection device, manually operable, for extracting tapered tools from a tapered tool receiving bore in a spindle.
1. An ordnance fuze adapted to function at a predetermined time interval in dvance of predicted missile-target intercept, said fuze comprising: means for sensing missile-to-target distance; means for initiating the generation of a first waveform voltage when the missile reaches a first predetermined distance from the target; means for initiating the generation of a second waveform voltage when the missile reaches a second and shorter predetermined distance from the target; comparator means for c...
A sorting machine for separating substandard items from a continuous stream of products is disclosed wherein the ejector that removes the detected substandard items includes an ejector finger of monolithic structure and homogeneous material and an actuator. The ejector finger includes a base fixedly attached with respect to the product stream, a contactor normally withdrawn from the product stream when standard products are in the stream and for entering the product stream to eject a detected su...
An arrangement for ejecting objects from a projectile, includes a hollow projectile body having a nose end with a plurality of objects disposed in a column within the projectile body. An ejection charge is disposed within the projectile body at the nose end. An ejection device including a hood enclosing a cavity is ejectably disposed within the projectile body between the ejection charge and the column. The hood has a wall with an opening facing the ejection charge so that, after ignition of the...
This invention relates to an arrangement providing the safe descent to the ground of the fuselage of an aircraft when it has been disabled. The pilot of the aircraft when it is disabled actuates any suitable control mechanism on the dash panel to automatically release a parachute, the cables depending therefrom being affixed to the center of gravity of the aircraft for the safe descent thereof under the action of the parachute. The parachute is stored within a cradle or the like housing which is...
An ejection mechanism, primarily for use in association with the cigarette hopper of a cigarette packing machine having a vertical channel in which cigarettes may be stacked one above the other and descend intermittently, comprises a pair of support members at a support level higher than the bottom of said channel for supporting end portions of a cigarette in the channel and movable out of the channel to allow said cigarette to fall; sensing means at a level above the support level; an air nozzl...
An apparatus for controlling the flow of ink in the nozzle of an ink ejector head, the latter having an ink flow system which has a chamber capable of being supplied with ink and a nozzle through which ink is ejected as well as a pressure producer capable of being subjected to pulses for applying pressure on the ink in the chamber so as to cause the ink to be ejected through the nozzle. The pressure producer has applied to it a series of pulses consisting of alternating primary and secondary pul...
A system to impart a desired combination of linear and rotational momentum o a projectile. A pair of thrusters are designed to engage a projectile at a fixed angle to impart the desired combination of forces when activated. A manifold tube commutes between the thrusters and a slow release cartridge. Upon ignition of the cartridge, gases enter the manifold tube to cause simultaneous thruster action, avoiding tipoff and other problems associated with the introduction of undesired force components.
An ejection liquid that allows a solution containing at least one kind of insulins to be stably ejected by an inkjet system using a thermal energy and a method of ejecting the solution containing at least one kind of insulins, using such an ejection liquid. The ejection liquid of the present invention includes at least one kind of insulins, citric acid, and a liquid medium, which can be ejected by providing thermal energy.
