The tridecapeptide having the general formula L-leucyl-L-glutamyl-L-glutamyl-L-glutamyl-L-glutamyl-L-glutamyl-L-alanyl-L -tyrosylglycyl-L-tryptophyl-L-leucyl-L-asparagyl-L-phenylalanineamide, or a salt or protected derivative thereof. Such tridecapeptide has gastrin activity. A process of preparation of such tridecapeptide, a process of use of it, and thereapeutic or diagnostic agents incorporating it.
Compounds of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically active salts are gastrin and CCK receptor ligands, where Ar is a monocyclic aromatic group, R.sup.1 is halo, amino, nitro, cyano, sulphamoyl, sulphonyl, trifluoromethyl, C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 alkyl, C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 alkylamino, C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 dialkylamino, phenyl, substituted phenyl, C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 alkoxy, hydroxy, esterified hydroxy, C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 hydroxyalkyl, C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 alkylcarboxyamino, carboxy, esterified carboxy and a...
Small cell lung carcinoma cells (SCLC) contain gastrin releasing peptide (GRP) receptors. The response of the cells to GRP is rapid growth. We have found a group of heptapeptides that act as GRP antagonists by blocking the binding of GRP to its receptor thereby inhibiting the growth of cells that are sensitive to the growth promoting acitivity of GRP.
New and improved compounds for use in radiodiagnostic imaging or radiotherapy having the formula M-N-O-P-G, wherein M is the metal chelator (in the form complexed with a metal radionuclide or not), N-O-P is the linker, and G is the GRP receptor targeting peptide. Methods for imaging a patient and/or providing radiotherapy to a patient using the compounds of the invention are also provided. A method for preparing a diagnostic imaging agent from the compound is further provided. A method for prepa...
The invention provides assay methods for the detection and quantitation of gastrin hormones, including total and free gastrin hormone in a sample. ELISA-type heterogeneous phase assays suitable for use with biological fluid samples such as blood, plasma or other bodily fluids of a mammal, particularly a human subject are provided. The method provides a precise assay for the amounts of free and total G17 and G34 in biological fluid samples, as well as the amounts of free and total Gly-extended G1...
