A glassware machine having a glassware mold and a movable plunger positioned adjacent to the glassware mold for pressing a glass gob in the glassware mold to form a glassware article. The glassware machine includes an electric motor operatively connected to the plunger to move the plunger with respect to the glassware mold to provide accurate pressing of the glass gob when forming the glassware article.
The glassware scarf is a flexible, absorbent device used to soak up excessive condensation from glassware. The scarf is wrapped about a stem of a glass, such as a wineglass, sherbet glass, etc., and absorbs condensation that drips down from the bowl of the glass. The glassware scarf has a rectangular central body portion and first and second ends tapering from opposite ends of the rectangular central body portion. A slit is defined in the rectangular body portion adjacent to the first end. The g...
Tumblers and the like articles are produced from vitreous, plastic and similar materials by a continuous step by step production method, wherein each article may be first preliminarily formed as a parison and then blow-formed as a blank or semi-finished article. While the blank is still hot or semi-plastic, dimples or depressions are formed in its side and bottom walls to produce an indented or dimpled type of shape. Side wall dimpling is accomplished by providing transfer finger pairs with pres...
This invention is concerned with the production of transparent glass articles exhibiting an integral light gray-brown hue. More particularly, this invention is drawn to specific borosilicate-based glass compositions containing critically-defined amounts of Co.sub.3 O.sub.4, NiO, and MnO.sub.2 as colorants therefor. The resulting glasses exhibit a specifically-delineated transmittance curve in the visible portion of the radiation spectrum.
A decorated article of glassware and the like and a method of making the same are provided in which a glass object having a cylindrical sidewall is provided with a pair of separate and distinct designs separated by a neutral background and an opening through both designs and background forming an integral part of the outermost design through which a viewer may see the innermost design through the glass sidewall.
A receptacle for carrying and displaying glassware formed from a blank comprising a single sheet of paper stock. The receptacle includes an open front and rear rectangular parallelopiped sleeve having a top, a bottom, and opposite side walls connecting the top and bottom wall, all of which are hinged to each other. Four cylindrical glassware items can be supported within the receptacle and displayed between a center wall provided along the interior of the bottom and top wall and the outer edges ...
