An inventory board having tracks with marker strips slidable along the track to indicate the quantities of each item to be inventoried. An inventory marker scale is located to calibrate the marker strips. A margin adjacent to each of the sets of strips, tracks and scales is provided for labels to identify the individual product, brand and size that is being inventoried. The marker strips are each formed with a shaped tongue that is slidably engaged with an undercut track on the board.
A novel encoding system and methods for determining the location and/or identity of a particular item or component of interest is provided. In particular, the present invention utilizes a "barcode" comprising one or more sizes of semiconductor nanocrystals (quantum dots) having characteristic spectral emissions, to either "track" the location of a particular item of interest or to identify a particular item of interest. The semiconductor nanocrystals used in the inventive "barcoding" scheme can ...

A computer-based system for taking the physical inventory of beverages dispensed in full and partially full containers so as to effectively control the theft and overpouring. The products to be inventoried, such as liquor bottles are identified by conventional barcodes that can be scanned by a scanner that is operably interconnected with a hand-held computer. The step of scanning the barcodes produces, on the touch-sensitive screen of the hand-held computer, product information concerning the pr...
A method and system that provides the functions to search for material that would fit an order or search for order that a piece of material would fit. For that, the system considers the technical specification defined in the processing route assigned to the orders, domain-expert knowledge for check for feasible matches, and a flexible plant model to specify valid feasible stock areas for searching. This system allows complete visibility of all material in a plant and its suitability to be applie...
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for inventory management. Managing data items in an inventory management system. A request to add a data item to the inventory management system is received. The data item has an associated set of attributes to be represented in the inventory management system. It is determined whether the inventory management system includes a structure in which the data item and the sets of attributes associated with ...
The inventory management of items, such as banner ads to be displayed on web sites, is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method constructs a number of item slot groups and a number of meta item slot groups. Each item slot group has a number of item slots. Each meta group encompasses one or more item slot groups, and has a number of item slots equal to the total number of item slots of its constituent groups. The method allocates each of a number of items of a first type over the item slots of the ...
A method, article of manufacture, and apparatus for inventory control of items in a location are disclosed. In an embodiment, this comprises a surveillance system comprising a plurality of cameras and at least one display, at least one identification tag, at least one identification tag reader configured to read the identification tag and placed to cover at least a portion of the location, and a computer configured to process information including the identification tag read by the reader. In re...
There is disclosed an automated hardware inventory system for remote identification of system circuits. The system includes a central processing unit for addressing circuits over a bidirectional communication bus. A memory device and control circuitry is affixed to each circuit for the storage of information to identify each said circuit when addressed by the central processing unit. The identity information includes the vintage of the circuit.
In the business of supplying bushings as tool guides for machine operations a minimum of two types of bushings need to be stocked. One type is a headless press fit sleeve. The other type is a slip fit sleeve with a head at one end. The headed slip fit type is desirable but greatly more costly. Such a great number of different sizes need to to stocked by the supplier that the cost of maintaining two complete inventories, one of each type, often becomes prohibitively expensive. The invention here ...
