A method for producing monomeric interferons from oligomeric interferons, for preventing formation of oligomeric interferon from monomeric interferon, and for increasing the yield of monomeric interferon upon purification of interferon is described. The method employs a redox reagent to treat the interferon sample.
The invention provides disulfonimide compounds of the general formula ##STR1## wherein X is bromine, chlorine or iodine; R is hydrogen or methyl; and R' is alkyl, aryl or substituted aryl. The compounds are useful as activators for anaerobic adhesive compositions and also as intermediates in the preparation of monomers of the general formula ##STR2## wherein R and R' are as defined above. The monomers are polymerizable to form homo- and copolymers useful in the photographic industry as well as i...
Photosensitive homopolymers and substantially non-crosslinked copolymers containing the recurring unit: ##EQU1## R.sub.1 may be substituted or unsubstituted alkylene, aralkylene, alkoxyalkylene or aryloxyalkylene. R.sub.2 is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group or heterocyclic group having aromatic character. R.sub.3, R.sub.4, and R.sub.5 are hydrogen, halogen or lower alkyl. R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 may be hydrogen, halogen, nitro, lower alkyl, phenyl, substituted phenyl, phenoxy and lower alko...
Disclosed are sequences encoding monomeric variants of DsRed fluorescent proteins and methods of use.
The invention includes a streptavidin mutein having at least one mutation chosen to cause one or more of steric hindrance, charge repulsion, or improvement of solubility by changing interfacial hydrophobic residues to less hydrophobic or hydrophilic residues. The mutein may exist in monomeric form even in the presence of biotin, and reversibly binds to biotin. The invention also includes polynucleotides encoding such muteins, expression systems and host cells for producing such muteins. The inve...
A process of making a color photographic material comprising a support and a layer comprising gelatin and as a color-coupling agent a water-insoluble homopolymer of a solid water-insoluble ethylenically unsaturated color coupling monomer or a water-insoluble copolymer of said monomer with a water-insoluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer, wherein the color-coupling agent is made by: Polymerizing an emulsion in water of a solution of a solid water-insoluble ethylenically unsaturated color coupl...
Monomeric analogues of human insulin have a single substitution of the amino acid in 12.sup.th, 16.sup.th or the 26.sup.th position of the B chain of human insulin and may also have a terminal deletion in the B chain.
Solid substrates with free hydroxyl groups are phosphorylated by thermolysing a solution of phosphoramidate of the formula ##STR1## in the presence of the substrate, whereby metaphosphate is generated which phosphorylates the substrate.
Described is an improved process for the preparation of fully methylolated, substantially fully etherified, and substantially monomeric tetramethoxymethlglycoluril useful as a crosslinking agent for powder coatings. The improved process adds after the conventional steps of methylolation and etherification the new steps of acidic distillation followed by an additional etherification.
Described are monomeric fluorosurfactants having two perfluoro-lower-alkyl sulfonamido segments which are more efficient and effective in lowering the surface tension of organic solvents and water compared to other C4-based fluorosurfactants.
