A breath tester system and control system therefor are disclosed. The tester includes a chamber in which a breath sample is stored, a detector unit positioned to test breath therein and means for shielding the detector unit from the chamber while breath is flowing into the chamber and for unshielding the detector unit thereafter to present a relatively quiescent breath sample to the detector. A purge pump for purging the system with air is provided and controlled.
The optical properties of circular prisms, which are also known as axicons, are utilized in optical systems that generate one or more quiescent, steady in time, sharply focused circular and arc-shaped patterns of light. A laser beam incident on the circular prism is deviated by the prism effect and the emerging beam focused onto a target surface by a spherical lens or zoom lens; the radius of the circle is conveniently adjusted. Systems with stationary optics are described to efficiently form tw...
The machine includes a train of molds moving through an arcuate pouring zone, a supply vessel for the metal, a trough extending between the vessel and the mold trains to convey the metal therebetween. The metal is discharged from beneath the surface of the metal in the vessel and into one end of the trough beneath the surface of the metal therein. The other end of the trough is registered with a mold in the trains and moves with the trains while metal is dispensed into the mold from beneath the ...
A circuit capable of quiescent current control, the circuit comprising a first operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) including a first output terminal, a first transistor including a first gate coupled to the first output terminal of the first OTA, a second OTA including a second output terminal, a second transistor including a second gate coupled to the second output terminal of the second OTA, a resistive load including a first terminal coupled to the first output terminal and the first...
The invention provides a method for establishing communications with a quiescent mobile vehicle. A satellite radio system broadcast channel is monitored for a command signal. The command signal is extracted from the broadcast channel. A cell phone in a telematics unit is powered up based on the command signal.
A quiescent test circuit for interfacing a high precision integrated circuit tester to a device under test (DUT). The quiescent test circuit is capable of supplying a high powered (V1) voltage supply to a DUT while the DUT's desired dynamics internal state is reached. At this point, the integrated circuit tester, sends an active select signal to the quiescent test circuit instantaneously which deselects the high-powered (V1) voltage supply to the DUT and selects the integrated circuit tester's p...
A control system for a breath tester is disclosed. The tester includes a chamber in which a breath sample is stored, a detector unit positioned to test breath therein and means for shielding the detector unit from the chamber while breath is flowing into the chamber and for unshielding the detector unit thereafter to provide a relatively quiescent breath sample to the detector. A purge pump is also provided. The control system includes means for sensing the breath flow into the chamber during th...
Reconfiguration of a continuously available routing network of a publish/subscribe system is achieved by quiescing data messages and control messages within the routing network to preserve first-in first-out ordering thereof, and then, reconfiguring the quiesced routing network. This reconfiguration technique is particularly applicable to a routing network having at least one special node comprising one of a logger node or a sequencer node, wherein the logger node is used to store a message to p...
A control method applicable to a battery-driven portable device such as a portable radio telephone device for suppressing quiescent currents appearing when the device is not under operation, thereby extending the useful service life of an external power source such as a battery. In one example, required power inputs supplied to power input terminals for activating the total device system act as trigger inputs to a power control circuit including a pulse generator circuit, thereby generating a pu...
The first (T.sub.1) and the second (T.sub.2) output transistor of an amplifier arrangement are push-pull driven by means of a drive circuit (10) having two transistors (T.sub.11, T.sub.12) which are each loaded by a current source (T.sub.13, T.sub.14). Currents which are a measure of the currents flowing through the first (T.sub.1) and the second (T.sub.2) output transistor are generated by first (20) and second (30) current measuring means. These currents are applied to a negative feedback mean...
