A recording member for recording a laser beam bearing an information by deformation of a recording layer comprises a support, a recording layer of a non-metallic material and a protecting layer which is not destroyed by the laser beam.
Disclosed in this invention is a recording medium characterized by forming on the support a recording layer containing a metastable sensitive substance which is an intermediate product of a reaction between a first colorless or light-colored material containing the S atoms released by light irradiation and a second colorless or light-colored material which develops color as it is sulfurized by said S atoms.
A recording medium comprises a recording layer formed on a substrate. The recording layer comprises a solid solution of a guest compound in a matrix polymer. The guest compound, such as a para-di-substituted benzene derivative, has a substantial second order micro-nonlinear optical constant .beta. but shows substantially no nonlinear optical effect in its crystalline form. The matrix polymer is preferably a polyoxyalkylene. A part of the recording layer is caused to have a nonlinear optical effe...
A recording apparatus is provided with a housing for blocking off external light, a supporting base placed in the housing, and a plurality of heating elements, which are arranged on the supporting base in a direction of width of recording paper, for performing the color development of recording paper. The recording apparatus is further provided with a light emitting device, which is placed on the supporting base in such a way as to extent in a direction of width of recording paper, for coming ne...
A recording apparatus records image data without wastefully consuming record sheets. Received image data are combined in a sub-scan direction, and if a sub-scan length of the combined image data does not exceed a sub-scan length of a record sheet loaded in the apparatus, the combined data is recorded on one record sheet. When main scan lengths of image data of a plurality of pages combined are different from each other, the image data are reduced to comply to a record sheet of a minimum main sca...
Disclosed is a recording device for recording data in a recording/reproduction device using a recording medium in which the recording-rate performance showing the recordable data quantity per unit time varies area to area. The recording device comprises a data memory unit for temporarily storing data to be recorded; a data quantity management unit for managing the quantity of data in the memory unit, and requesting execution of writing data in the recording medium; a medium area management unit ...
To record a multi-valued image by an ink-jet head, an ink droplet is jetted from a recording element (nozzle) for the number of times corresponding to the density of a pixel to be reproduced. Accordingly, the pixel data to determine the number of ink-jet operation is expressed by a plurality of bits and the data of each bit are transferred to a plurality of shift registers at a time. Each shift register has storage capacity based on bit data corresponding to the number of recording elements of a...
Magnetic recording media including permanent structures of aligned acicular particles have been proposed as a means of identifying and authenticating a medium. A structure of such a media by which information can be recorded and read-out without interference from the structural remanence difference is described. An apparatus and method for the examination of such media for their permanent structures, particularly when used in security documents such as credit cards, are also described.
A display apparatus is provided whereby a constant intensity of record is obtained notwithstanding substantial changes in the linear speed of the record member. The cathode ray sweep frequency is maintained at a constant rate commensurate with the highest speed of the record member. As the speed of the record member is reduced by a given factor, the number of scans of the cathode ray beam which are unblanked are reduced by the same factor.
A scratch strain gauge has an annular target removably supported on a first plate, which is fixed to a first area of a structure that is to have its strains recorded. The target, which has a groove in its periphery, is driven by flat springs, supported on a second plate, which is fixed to a second area of the structure and longitudinally spaced from the first area. The plates have an interlocking relationship for temperature compensation. A dust seal cover is disposed over the space between the ...
