A security system for a shipping container includes a cover and seal pin, and a special removal tool for removing the pin from the cover. The cover includes a vertical channel with top and bottom plates mounted therein to form a rearwardly opening box. A pair of vertically aligned apertures in the top and bottom plates are aligned with apertures in ears of a hasp on the shipping container, and receive the seal pin to secure the cover to the container. A seal pin includes an elongated shaft with ...
Honeycomb removal comprises directing a nozzle at the surface of a substrate at an angle of less than about 90.degree. such that the water will strike the substrate at the base of the honeycomb, parallel to the direction of the ribbon which forms the honeycomb structure. Water then passes through the nozzle and through the orifice at a pressure and flow rate sufficient to remove the honeycomb and preferably the underlying braze from the substrate surface. Relative motion is created between the s...
An indium tin oxide (ITO) coating is selectively removed from a substrate by printing a mask on the coated surface of the substrate to cover those regions of the surface on which the ITO is to remain. The substrate is then abraded to remove the ITO from the unmasked regions of the surface and the mask is removed with a solvent. The method provides quick and accurate removal of ITO without the use of acids or lasers.
A method for treating a wellbore (or well casing) and the contiguous wellbore area to remove scale (mineral deposits comprised of, e.g., BaSO4, CaCO3, etc.) in the context of hydrocarbon recovery and other applications is disclosed, said method including contacting the scale with a fluid comprised of an ionic liquid or liquids.
To reduce damage to surrounding tissue while fragmenting some tissue such as for example not damaging the capsular wall while removing the lens during cataract removal surgery or not damaging artery or vein walls during bypass surgery while freeing the artery or vein to be transplanted, an incision is made for the insertion of surface--a handpiece tip. The tip is rotated and reciprocated ultrasonically at the same time so that tissue is fragmented by the combined motion of a fragmenting surface ...
Accurate, non-mechanical removal of the epithelium from essentially only the area of the cornea to be treated. In particular, an epithelium-ablative laser device irradiates the selected region of the epithelium with ablative laser energy, a spectroscopic system monitors the ablation and spectroscopically determines whether epithelium is being ablated, and a control system terminates the epithelium removal upon spectroscopic determination of a substantial absence of epithelium ablation.
A stain-removing dry composition containing sodium perborate, a proteolytic enzyme and MgSO.sub.4. The presence of the MgSO.sub.4 gives superior stability on aging.
Prying packing rings out of a cavity by sequential use of an array of claw tools having a carrot shape and differently-curved tips.
Removal of carbonate ions from cyanide-containing electroplating baths, or bath rinse solutions by contacting with an acid ion exchange resin, and liberating the carbon dioxide formed as off gas.
A sludge removal apparatus includes a sludge removal head (10) with a sludge suction duct and an water supply duct with open end portions alongside each other, and a filter (32) adjacent to the open ends of the suction duct (36) and the water supply duct (38) so that the sludge is extracted through the filter (32). A drive mechanism moves the filter so that regions of the filter pass successively over the open ends of the suction duct, where it may become partially blinded with sludge, and then ...
