Disclosed are azidoformate-isocyanate compounds of the formula ##SPC1## Where R is a polyvalent organic radical and x and y are integers from 1 to 100. The use of said azidoformate-isocyanate compounds to modify polymers, cross-link polymers, and adhere polymers to substrates selected from siliceous materials, metals and other polymer substrates is disclosed. Also disclosed are rubber tires reinforced with polyester tire cord which has bene modified with an azidoformate-isocyanate compound.

Improvements in secondary recovery operations for the recovery of oil, and improvements in well drilling operations, are accomplished through the use of aqueous mediums comprising new aqueous gels prepared from water and cellulose ethers.
A process comprising subjecting a substrate to a member of the group of elemental phosphorus and low oxidation state phosphorus compounds, and thereafter to a metal salt or complex thereof, is employed to provide a coating on the substrate, for use in the production of electrostatic and magnostatic shielded wires and antistatic textiles. Additional improvements in the coating of filaments are provided for by subjection of the substrate to a solution of elemental phosphorus, molten elemental phos...
A disposable bag for medical uses includes front and back plastic sheets edge-sealed together. The front sheet has a circular opening and a double-sided adhesive annular disc, with a peelable covering, concentrically disposed about the opening. The diameter of the annulus is smaller than that of the opening in the front sheet so that, in a smaller annular area about the opening, the front and back sheets stick to one another, thereby maintaining a sanitary interior prior to use and, when the bag...
Sulfonamides of formula I, in which the symbols R.sup.1 -R.sup.6, X, Y and n have the significance given in the description and which are in part novel compounds, and salts thereof, which can be used as active ingredients for the manufacture of medicaments for the treatment of circulatory disorders, especially hypertension, ischemia, vasospasms and angina pectoris, are described.
This invention provides new uses for the drugs of the thioureylene class and thiabendazole. These new uses include methods of treatment for a variety of conditions and diseases, including psoriasis, other atopic dermatoses and inflammatory conditions having an autoimmune basis, as well as other autoimmune diseases, including rheumatic disease, and transplant rejection.
A scissors for surgical and other uses which comprises a smooth tapered flange integral with the lower blade of the scissors to prevent unintentional contact by the blade with the area being treated and which is constructed such that the rear portion of the cutting edges are never exposed. The scissors may be conveniently operated with one hand.
