A memory control for use in a digital computer system. During each memory reference certain use characteristics of the addressed location are monitored. These include the general accessibility of the location for any purpose, the availability of the location to certain users and operating restrictions which can be performed with information which the location contains. The control also monitors operational mode characteristics which indicate a class of operating programs being processed, whether...
A panel structure for an article of furniture including an open interior and an opening which allows access to the open interior, and a closure for the opening including a cover and a resilient spring arm extending laterally outwardly and downwardly at an inclined angle from the cover and generally to one side thereof and extending into and engaging the top and bottom walls of a cavity which is positioned laterally and generally to one side of the peripheral edge of the access opening, the top s...
A cartridge containing a single tape reel is inserted into a rapid access tape storage device. The cartridge comprises a tapered-wall vacuum column and a friction surface disposed opposite the vacuum column. When the tape is acted upon by the restraining force of the frictional surface, said restraining force being transferred by an endless intermediate belt which loosely encircles the tape, the outer bale of tape is restrained. Reel rotation causes the reel layers to quickly transfer either awa...
Disclosed is a digital computer memory access system which operates to make available storage for fields of information regardless of the fixed word structure of the computer, and includes means for directing access to either end of the field by specifying the address of its containment word and the bit distance offset between the selected field end and a selected end of the word, means, if needed, for aligning the field end according to the computer word period and means for memory read and wri...
A serial-access linear transform device, suitable for signal processing systems requiring the rapid generation of linear transforms of a spatial or temporal signal, where the transform is in sampled form consisting of a series of N-sample terms, each term consisting of factors, and where the signal consists of a series of N-sample pulses. The transform device includes a time code generator which generates a plurality of pulses, either singly or sequentially, at predetermined intervals of time, a...
In a digital computer system having a main memory operable at a first speed, a high speed buffer operating at a second speed for temporarily storing selected portions of the main memory, an associative memory for temporarily storing selected main memory addresses and comparing the stored addresses with a newly received address in a read/write operation to generate comparison data, a read only memory a bit configuration reflecting an algorithm, connected to the associative memory for generating a...
A pet access panel including swinging doors which permit an animal egress from and entry into a room and the like. The panel supporting the doors is adapted to be attached to a sliding door or other similar structure without modification thereof. The panel functions to seal the room from outside weather conditions when the doors are closed whereby the door can be readily opened in two directions to permit passage by a pet. The doors are provided with a protection element to insure that a pet can...
A random access storage compartment system wherein a plurality of compartments are pivotably attached to a pair of spaced chains supported in a rectangular configuration. The compartments are supported in a level position at all times and any compartment can be selectively moved and halted at an access position.
An insert for the ends of a splice case providing a sealed passageway which may be used, subsequent to installation of the splice case, for providing an access hole for receipt of additional cables and the like. The insert includes a first resilient tube having a rigid metal sleeve positioned thereabout and an end seal at a first end thereof. A second resilient tube extends from about the first resilient tube at a second end of said tube. The insert is positioned through an end member of a splic...
Adjacent components are locked to one another with a lock mechanism having multiple access ports, each port being closed by a differential lock. The mechanism includes a bracket supporting spaced apart slideways, and a sleeve aligned with the slideways. A cup on one of the slideways has openings through which a bolt is slidably engaged in the slideways and sleeve. Removal of the bolt is effectively blocked pending removal of at least one of the differential locks in the ports.
