Packaging made of inexpensive thermoformed plastic is described. The packaging includes a base and cover defining a plurality of chambers. The cover includes a plurality of flaps, each flap corresponding to a chamber. The flaps can be manipulated independently of one another to provide selective access to a desired chamber with opening other chambers. The invention can be applied to create through thermoforming packaging of many different shapes and sizes.
A spotlight assembly is disclosed, including a spotlight energizeable to transmit a beam of light and having a lens frame configured to support a lens, and a cylinder coupled to the lens frame and adapted to receive at least one light guide through an opening in a sidewall of the cylinder. An extender for a spotlight configured to generate a beam of light is also disclosed, the spotlight having a first shell to support a reflector and a lamp and a light emitting opening, and a second shell for e...
A keyboard comprising a plurality of Alpha-Numeric keys, a plurality of Direction keys and a Backspace key, a Delete key or a Enter key is provided. The plurality of Direction keys includes .fwdarw.,.rarw.,.uparw.,.dwnarw. keys to form an area of Direction keys. The Backspace key, a Delete key or a Enter key is disposed adjacent to the area of Direction keys for allowing a user's fingers to move between Direction keys and Backspace key, a Delete key or a Enter key without moving the palm.
An Information highlighting facility assists the user in evaluating relevance of accessed documents to the user's information need. The accessed documents may, for example, be identified by a search engine in response to a user query. When accessing documents identified as relevant by a search engine from other networked computers, the facility provides information highlighting to assist the user in determining whether the document is relevant. A model of the user's interest, which may include a...
An electron beam storage device is disclosed. A beam impinges on a target. The target stores data and it can be read as needed. The target is made of multiple layers, from the top, a first layer of thin conductive metal, and a semiconductor joined to it to define a Schottky diode. The beam liberates ionized pairs in the semiconductor. This is joined to an adjacent layer of dielectric and there is another layer of dielectric. The charge in the semiconductor causes tunneling across the first diele...
A providing computer system may receive a request, via a stateless protocol, to access a resource. An access control application may refer to administrative rules to set validation information associated with the request. Validation information may be in the form of electronic text that is stored in a location such as a cookie or state-table. Validation information may indicate the state of a session associated with a resource, such as whether a session is in a logged-in or logged-out state. Whe...
An environment for remote monitoring of a device, such as a child's computer, from a television or other monitor device. The monitored device has a security layer, which may be implemented in hardware, software, or a combination of the two, where the security layer inspects some or all accessed network data or network access activities, including real-time content such as chat rooms and the like. While the monitored device is used to access network data, alerts are displayed on the remote monito...
A system and method for watermarking data that includes a client device, a file system manager, a file server, and a storage network. The file system manager sets watermark control information. The file server includes: (1) a file writing process including a file watermark examination procedure and an action procedure, the action procedure determining an action based on a result of the file watermark examination; and (2) a file reading process including a watermark definition procedure, a file h...
One embodiment of the present invention provides a memory system that allows more than one cycle of memory latency for accesses to a synchronously accessed memory. In this embodiment, the memory system includes a memory with a clocked interface and a corresponding clock input. It also includes an output register for storing data outputted from the memory during a read operation. The output register and the memory are coupled together by a data path, for transferring data between the memory and t...
A time-shared central computer can be protected from access from unauthorized users by utilizing automatic tracing equipment included within telephone switching systems, in combination with an independently organized offsite security computer system. The user, seeking to access the central computer through a telephone system, automatically causes his telephone number to be generated within the telephone system and sent to the offsite security computer. Meanwhile, the user provides the time-share...
