An ascorbic acid or erythorbic acid derivative represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein n represents an integer of 4 to 20; and a process for producing said ascorbic acid or erythorbic acid derivative which comprises heat-treating 2,5,6-triacyl-substituted-ascorbic acid or -erythorbic acid represented by the following general formula: ##STR2## wherein n represents an integer of 4 to 20, in the presence of water and/or a lower aliphatic alcohol at a temperature of 30.degree....
(1) Naphthyloxyaetic acid represented by the compound of the formula (I): ##STR1## and non-toxic salts thereof, (2) process for the preparation of the compounds represented by the compound of the formula (I) described hereinbefore, (3) PGE.sub.2 antagonist or agonist containing the compound represented by the compound of the formula (I) as the active ingredient. The compounds represented by the compounds of the formula (I) can be adapted to medicines which possess an inhibitory effect of uterine...
Safety apparel for use in harardous environments has an indicating material incorporated in the surface of the apparel. On exposure to hazardous materials, such as acids and bases, the surface changes color to indicate exposure and provide a warning. Further, a material and method is provided to treat surfaces to indicate exposure to hazardous materials. The treated surfaces may exhibit reversibility effective to indicate exposure over repetitive cycles.
Regeneration of hydrochloric acid by hydrolysis of iron chloride in aqueous solution employs a Pelletiser (5) after preconcentration of acid solution in a "Pre-Evaporator" (1). Pelletiser (5) controls pellet mixture to between 12% and 14% free water by recycling dried solids from Roaster (3), from Screen (7), or from dust removal Cyclone (9), and waste liquid from Preconcentrator (1). Preconcentrator (1) is contacted with superheated gas from Fluid Bed Roaster (3). Rotary Drier (6) dries pellets...
1,2-Dihydroxycyclohexa-3,5-diene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid and its salts, which are novel intermediates yielding hydroxyterephthalic acid upon dehydration, can be prepared by culturing terephthalic acid and a carbon/energy source with a microorganism capable of oxidizing terephthalic acid but incapable of degradation of 1,2-dihydroxycyclohexa-3,5-diene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid thereby formed.
Process for oxidatively carbonylating toluene to toluic acid, at least 50 mol % of the toluic acid being the p-isomer, said process comprising contacting and reacting, at 110.degree.-250.degree. C., at a pressure of at least 500 psi (3.45 MPa), toluene, carbon monoxide, oxygen and the catalyst ingredients consisting essentially of (a) a compound of rhodium or iridium; (b) a sulfur oxy-acid or a Group Ia or IIa metal salt of a sulfur oxy-acid; (c) a sulfur oxy-acid or sulfur oxy-acid mixture havi...
Synthesis of isethionic acid comprising contacting an alkali metal isethionate and an organic acid.
A process for producing hydroxyacetic acid which comprises contacting carbon monoxide with formaldehyde and a catalyst comprising hydrogen fluoride in a reaction zone at a temperature between 0.degree. and 100.degree. C and a pressure between 10 and 4000 psig. Oxydiacetic acid is also produced by this reaction. The ratio of hydroxyacetic acid to oxydiacetic acid is increased by adding water to the reaction mixture.
Compounds of the formula ##EQU1## where R is an ester forming radical, salt forming radical, --SCCl.sub.3 or Y--S.sub.x where x is an integer from 0 to 3 and Y is the radical in parentheses. The compounds accelerate vulcanization of natural and synthetic rubber and some have the property of inhibiting oxidation of rubber.
The invention concerns acid derivatives of formula I and pharmaceutically acceptable metabolically labile esters or amides thereof, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, X.sup.1, Q, X.sup.2 and G have the meanings given in the specification. The invention also concerns processes for the preparation of the acid derivatives of formula I, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and their use as inhibitors of the binding of fibrinogen to glycoprotein ...
