A buckle which is used to removably fasten two pieces of webbing, strap or the like together requires two distinct actions for its opening and thus is "double locking." A latch member is pivotally supported on a frame by means of a support shaft. A first strap end is fixedly attached to one end of the frame. A second strap end to be attached to the first strap end is removably attached to one end of an adjuster member. The other end of the adjuster member is T-shaped. The frame has a pair of opp...
The subject invention concerns novel compounds that are useful as ultrashort acting hypnotic barbiturates. Specifically exemplified are derivatives of barbituric and thiobarbituric acids. They are rapidly metabolized by blood and tissue enzymes to form polar metabolites with no hypnotic activity and which are rapidly eliminated.
A double-acting electropneumatic positioner for controlling an actuator, the actuator having a first and second chamber, comprises a single-acting electropneumatic positioner which provides an output pneumatic pressure to the first chamber of the actuator. A pressure inverter, coupled to the single-acting electropneumatic positioner, inverts the output pneumatic pressure. The inverted output pneumatic pressure is then coupled to the second chamber of the actuator.
Compounds of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, chloro, bromo, nitro, cyano, trifluoromethyl, and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently selected from straight or branched lower (1-5 carbon atoms) alkyl groups, and including all optical isomers, provided that when R.sub.3 is methyl and R.sub.4 is tert.-butyl, then R.sub.1 /R.sub.2 are not hydrogen/hydrogen, hydrogen/2'-trifluormethyl, 2'-chloro/3'-chloro, and ...
A self-acting air bearing includes a housing, a shaft member supported in the housing, a cylindrical member which is installed around the shaft member coaxially and rotatably, and which rotates and generates a dynamic air pressure and thereby the cylindrical member is floatingly supported from the shaft member. In the bearing, concavities and convexes are formed at a same interval in a peripheral direction in either an outer peripheral surface of the shaft member or an inner peripheral surface o...
A quick-acting coupling for the fluid-tight connection of two parts, each with sealing elements with sealing faces, is provided with at least one sealing face having a flexible seal, as well as a coupling for connecting the parts in such a way that they do not move relative to each other. In order to simplify the coupling and to reduce its costs, the sealing element of one part has a bevelled end and the sealing element of the other part has a correspondingly bevelled socket. The flexible seal i...
A pump assembly (10) is disclosed which incorporates a double acting power end (12) to operate opposed single or double acting pumps (84, 102). First and second crossheads (30, 64) are reciprocated along the pumping axis (38) by rotation of the crankshaft (20) within the power end (12). A single acting pump is connected to each of the crossheads so that the pumping stroke of the pumps occur in opposite directions as the crossheads are reciprocated. This provides a constant loading of the power e...
The objective of the invention is a new plaster and a method for delivering the substance to be dosed to the skin (11) through the attached plaster. The invention can be used for the administering of different ingredients to be dosed by plaster.
A system and method using a Costas loop to effect accelerated convergence with minimal system complexity. The system comprises an in-phase-limiter and a quadrature-phase limiter, operatively coupled to an EXCLUSIVE-OR gate, for exclusively-ORing an in-phase-sign signal and a quadrature-phase-sign signal to output a first error signal, responsive to the signals having same signs, or a second error signal, responsive to the signals having different signs. An AGC circuit, operatively coupled to an ...
In a two wire thermocouple, a hollow tip is formed of the material of one of the thermocouple wires, the tip being adapted to extend into a medium the temperature of which is to be measured, both wires extending into a passage in the tip through an open outer end of the passage toward an inner end of the passage, one of the two thermocouple wires, of a material different from said tip, extending entirely through the passage and being welded at the outside of said tip to form a thermocouple junct...
