The invention relates to a brake disc or brake drum or else the combination of both. The brake discs are provided with rotationally symmetrical braking areas and a removable, anti-corrosive coating. The coating completely covers the surface of the brake disc. Between the coating and the braking area there is applied a peelable, adhesive piece which is cut to size from a sheet material and completely covers the braking area.
A brake valve for brake boosters in which a slide is guided in a sheath that is supported in rounded fashion at one end face, such that the slide, along with the sheath, is pivotable and can center itself, with a bezel formed onto its end face, in the valve seat of a valve bushing. The slide and valve bushing form a valve in which the closing behavior is improved considerably by the automatic centering of the slide in the valve seat.
A tubular member 21 is disposed within a valve body 6, and has a resilient retainer 69 mounted around the outer periphery thereof. The inner periphery of the valve body 6 is formed with an annular groove 68. When a brake pedal is quickly depressed, an input shaft 23 and the tubular member 21 are driven forward through more than a given stroke relative to the valve body, whereby a projection 69a of the retainer 69 becomes engaged with the annular groove 68. This produces and maintains a large ope...
A hydraulic-pressure counter-force mechanism 37 which produces a counter force when a brake booster is operated is made up of an input-side member 38 slidable disposed within a valve body 3, a second constant-pressure chamber 39 formed on the rear side of the input-side member and into which a pressure is introduced from a constant pressure chamber A, and a second constant-pressure chamber 39 formed on the front side of the input-side member and into which a pressure is introduced from a variabl...
A servobrake having a rigid jacket defined by a first shell joined to a second shell by through tie-bars to create variable volume front and rear chambers. The front chamber is permanently connected to a first pressure source whereas the rear chamber is selectively connected to the first pressure source and a second pressure source. The servobrake including a pressure sensor for the measurement of the pressure inside of the front and rear chambers. The pressure sensor is characterized by being a...
An actuator for a drum brake including a plunger connected through a resilient member to a linkage attached to a web on a brake shoe. A rod extends from the plunger and engages a lever arm that is pivotally retained on the web. The lever engages an extendable strut of an adjuster arrangement through which a running clearance is maintained between the brake shoe and a drum. During a brake application, pressurization fluid acts on the plunger to develop an operational force that is communicated th...
A disc brake for a vehicle wherein first and second friction member have projections thereon that are located in grooves in first and second rails of an anchor. On movement of the first and second frictions members during a brake application, the projections slide in the grooves to maintain a parallel alignment between a braking surface thereon and radial braking surfaces on a rotor and at the same time transmit reactions forces into a rotor to oppose the rotation of the rotor. Braking surfaces ...
A disc brake (10) comprises a disc (12, 14), friction material pads (26) arranged on opposite sides of the disc, and an operating mechanism (50, 52) operable to bring the pads into contact with the disc so that the pads apply a braking force to the disc. The brake (10) also comprises a slideway (72a) on which at least one of the pads (26) is suported for sliding movement towards or away from the disc (12, 14). The slideway (72a) is formed by a guidance member (72) which defines at least two para...
One of brake pads 5 is pressed against the disc rotor D by a piston of a caliper 3 which is floatably supported on the carrier 2, and in reaction thereto, the other brake pad 5 is pressed against the disc rotor D by a claw portion 14 on the caliper 3, thereby producing a braking force. During brake release, the spring force of a return spring 22 separates the brake pad 5 from the disc rotor D. A positioning convex portion 27 is provided on the carrier 2 in a standing position adjacent to the ret...
A disc brake comprises a brake carrier, which is fastenable to the vehicle and is provided with bolts at the leading side and at the trailing side of the brake, which during braking take up the forces acting upon the brake linings. The relative dimensions and arrangements of the bolts and of the brake lining are such that, upon introduction of a brake force that is capable of decelerating the vehicle up to a maximum value in the region of 0.1 g, only tensile forces act upon the brake lining.
