A ceramic capacitor operatively connected to a piezoelectric oscillator for compensating for the temperature dependence of the oscillator frequency is provided for thereby optimizing the accuracy of an electronic timepiece.
Non-porous, Alfred shale terra sigillata coated ceramic utensils, such as cooking pans, pots, plates, cups and heating and serving dishes, having non-sticking food-contacting surfaces are provided for use in the preparation and/or serving of foodstuffs. The ceramic utensils comprise a ceramic body and an Alfred shale terra sigillata coating on said body, both body and coating preferably being made from Alfred shale.
A novel, polycrystalline whitlockite ceramic in either pore-free or porous form, processes for the preparation thereof and methods of using the same as biological implant materials are disclosed.
A ceramic veneer manufactured from a thin-fluid slip by drying and baking of the slip. The slip consists of at least two different layers which have either different shrinkage rates during baking and/or different co-efficients of thermal expansion in the baked condition. The shrinkage rates and the coefficients of thermal expansion of the individual layers are determined such that the veneer remains of a uniform thickness throughout the manufacturing process.
An overvoltage absorbing element having an improved energy storing capability (withstand energy) and applicable to various fields hereinbefore unapplicable. Ceramic of a polycrystal varistor wherein a sintered body itself has a non-linear voltage characteristic and ceramic having a high electric conductivity are bonded through a metal, and electrodes are formed on the outermost and opposite surfaces.
A ceramic capacitor with at least one semiconductor device mount hole, comprising a metal substrate and a dielectric ceramic layer provided with electrode layer on its surfaces and mounted on the substrate. At least the lateral surface of the mount hole in the electrode layer bound to the substrate is covered with an insulating material. The ceramic capacitors have good thermal conductivity and adapted to be used with semiconductor devices designed for power applications.
A ceramic composition consisting essentially of Pb(Fe.sub.1/2 Nb.sub.1/2)O.sub.3, Pb(Fe.sub.2/3 W.sub.1/3)O.sub.3 and Pb(Zn.sub.1/3 Nb.sub.2/3)O.sub.3 which allows low-temperature sintering and has a high dielectric constant and a good dielectric constant temperature coefficient.
A double-ring ceramic ferrule member insertable into a fire tube of a sulfur plant boiler or cooler, the invention comprises an article of manufacture capable of reducing damage caused by high temperature gas flow through a fire tube, thereby to protect the fire tube and the tube sheet through which the fire tube extends. The present ferrule member provides improved anchoring capability and increased resistance to fire tube erosion.
A dielectric ceramic contains a primary constituent represented by general formula (1): a[(Sr.sub.b Ca.sub.1-b)TiO.sub.3 ]-(1-a)[Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3.nTiO.sub.2 ] (wherein a and b indicate molar amounts, and n indicates a molar ratio of TiO.sub.2 to Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3), and a secondary constituent represented by general formula (2): xMgTiO.sub.3 +yMnO.sub.m +zLn.sub.2 O.sub.3 (wherein x, y, and z indicate weight per 100 parts by weight of the primary constituent, m is 1 to 2, and Ln is at least one of...
