A dehydrator including an elongated drum mounted for rotation about its longitudinal axis. A frustoconical furnace sidewall cooperates with a ring burner to provide hot combustion gases for dehydrating material in the drum. Vanes in the drum are bent at varying angles to enhance even distribution of the material across the drum and cleats are also provided to reduce the slippage of material from some of the vanes.
A mobile crop drier wherein cut crop is gathered, crushed and conveyed obliquely into a large housing wherein a stream of air is introduced which is mixed with and heated by combustion products from a burner, the mixture of hot, gaseous material impinging on the conveyed crop in the forward upper interior of the housing and thereafter carrying it through a serpentine path in the housing for final discharge through the lower rear part of such housing. A series of rotating ejectors continuously un...
As the baler advances across the field picking up windrowed crop material, the material is continuously packed into the lower, open end of an upwardly curved duct leading to the bottom of the main baling chamber. A loading fork sweeps upwardly through the duct at regular intervals to stuff an accumulated charge of materials up into the baling chamber from the duct, and a packer at the mouth of the duct continuously adds new material to the duct at such a rate as to precompress the charge of mate...
The sprayer is designed to be operated on standing crops by utilizing a rounded boom with a deflector plate at the front to gently deflect the crops and induce mechanical turbulence into which the liquid to be sprayed is introduced so as to provide complete coverage of the crop. Large spans are accommodated by providing folding booms which are held in place by front and rear sets of cables. The height of the booms is adjustable to accommodate the particular crop being sprayed.
An auger cutter, windrower, and conditioner for standing crops such as hay, including a cutting auger with cutting teeth on the peripheral edge of the auger flight and a conveyor auger to move cut crop to a central area to be discharged as a double windrow.
The invention relates to an agricultural hay harvesting machine of the mower-conditioner-windrower type having a main, wheeled frame extending in a fore and aft direction, a header subframe pivotally mounted on the main frame and including a header mounted on such subframe, a reel mounted over the floor of such header and wherein such floor has a sickle bar mechanism on the forward end thereof and a pair of cooperating crusher rolls mounted adjacent to the rear of such floor, a lean bar transver...
A hydraulically-operated vertical positioning mechanism for a crop harvester that is pivotally mounted on a frame for vertical swinging movement comprising a pair of rigidly-joined and axially-aligned pistons and cylinders that extend between the frame and unit, a ground feeler on the unit operates a valve for one of the pistons and cylinders and a linkage connected to the piston and cylinder and responsive to adjustment of the latter operates a control valve for the other piston and cylinder.
A crop drier has an enclosed drying space and a heater which forces heated air through a lower air passage and into contact with crop being moved through the drying space. At the lower aspect of the passage, a debris collecting and cleaning device is positioned. The cleaning device can be displaced relative to the remainder of the drier for debris removal.
A crop harvester composed in part of a crop-treating unit mounted on a frame and having a forward crop inlet thereon. The harvester also includes in part forwardly disposed harvesting units mounted on a transverse horizontal pivot and having their rear ends opening downwardly above the crop inlet. Drive mechanism to the harvester includes a rotary member driven by a power source on the main frame and supported concentrically with the horizontal pivot. The rotary member is provided for each harve...
A crop drier in a defined space having an endless conveyor with a series of hooks which is disposed near the rear of the space in an inclined portion and along the top of the space in a horizontal portion. The relative disposition of the hooks is controlled so that near the transition from the inclined portion to the horizontal portion they are maintained in the same operative position relative to the defined space and they are caused to disengage crop at two or more selectable locations in the ...
