The method and system comprise capturing an image frame, capturing a partial dark frame and subtracting the partial dark frame from a corresponding section of the image frame. The steps of capturing a partial dark frame and subtracting the partial dark frame from a corresponding section of the image frame are repeated for additional partial dark frames.
