The structural assembly disclosed herein includes a panel, a structural member overlying an aperture in the panel, and a sheet metal, deformable clip or "blind fastener" interconnecting the structural member and the panel. The clip is formed from a strip of sheet metal having a central head portion secured to the structural member, and leg portions first bowed inwardly and converging together opposite the head portion, and thence defining a pair of generally V-shaped portions extending through t...
A tapered coiled spring wire secured within an insulating shell containing interior deformable fins for engagement with the spring wire to form retaining threads in the fins and avoid any substantial tensioning or deformation of the shell.
Elastomeric articles which can be shrunk by the application of heat are made from a blend of a cured polychloroprene elastomer and a polychloroprene elastomer having a Williams Plasticity Number of more than 1,000.degree. at 100.degree. F. and less than 350.degree. at 150.degree. F.
Deformable rubber track brake having a rubber rail secured to a foundation one side of which has a curb which overreaches a flange at the base of the rubber rail. The other side of the foundation is provided with a holder for limiting the lateral movement of the rail.
A motor vehicle steering column assembly having at least two distinct shaft elements interconnected by a flexible coupling. The coupling includes a pair of deformable members, each secured to an end of one of two shaft elements, so that the shaft elements normally are held in an end to end, spaced apart relationship along a common axis. The coupling further includes an axial instability prompting, arcuate element positioned between the adjacent shaft element ends and causing the coupled shaft el...
An apparatus for trimming a deformable substrate such as a squeegee blade, and which includes a main frame; a track borne by the main frame; a cutter assembly borne by and movable along the track; a support assembly borne by the main frame for supporting the deformable substrate, the support assembly being movable along a path of travel from a first position to a second portion, and wherein when disposed in the second position, the support assembly supports the deformable substrate in a trimming...
The invention relates to a deformable container (10) for delivering a liquid from a dispensing opening (12) on the sealing part (14), there being assigned to the ventilating opening (90) of the container (10) a ventilating valve (18) which is open in the event of underpressure in the container (10). The sealing part (14) is disposed on a metering element (20), which is inserted sealingly in the opening in the container (10) and is provided with two outlet ducts (24, 26). The outlet ducts (24, 26...
The invention described herein provides a surgical apparatus for use in endoscopic or laparoscopic procedures having a tubular body which includes a first substantially tractable section having a preformed configuration and a second substantially firm section defining a longitudinal axis, and a reciprocable rod member disposed within the tubular body and movable between a retracted position and a protracted position for progressively deforming the first section of the tubular body.
A needle valve including a deformable seal positioned between the distal end of the needle and a hard, mechanical seat between the needle and the valve housing. The deformable seal is able to seal around the movable needle but is protected from serious deformation by the hard mechanical seat that is located so as to prevent the needle from entering the deformable seat beyond a predetermined amount. Thus the deformable seal does not extrude due to the entrance of the needle and wear is reduced.
A deformable surgical repair device is manufactured from a block or graft copolymer. The copolymer comprises a plurality of first linkages selected from the group consisting of glycolic acid ester and lactic acid ester linkages, and mixtures thereof, and a plurality of second linkages selected from the group consisting of 1,3-dioxan-2-one; 1,4-dioxan-2-one and .epsilon.-caprolactone linkages. The plurality of first linkages comprises at least about 50 up to about 90 mole percent of the copolymer...
