Primary and secondary alkylsulfonates with carbon numbers lower than those which afford optimum detergency are used as hydrotropes in detergent formulations. These alkylsulfonates are linear, and have a carbon content ranging from C.sub.7 to C.sub.8 inclusive.
A detergent composition which comprises A. 1 to 99, preferably 1 to 30, parts by weight of a salt of an organic sulfopolycarboxylic acid, the carboxyl groups of which are at least partially esterified with at least one non-ionic compound containing at least one hydroxyl group and the sulfonic acid group of which is salified with a cation selected from sodium, potassium and triethanolamine, said sulfopolycarboxylic acid being obtained by sulfonating and acidifying the pyrolysis product of an alka...
Detergent compositions each of which comprises (A) at least one phosphate ester or a salt thereof represented by the following formula (1): ##STR00001## wherein R.sup.1 represents a C.sub.8-C.sub.18 hydrocarbon group, m stands for a number of from 0 to 10 on weight average, X represents H, an alkali metal atom, ammonium, a basic amino acid residual group, or an alkanolamino group having a hydroxy(C.sub.2-C.sub.3 alkyl) group, and R.sup.2 represents --(CH.sub.2CH.sub.2O).sub.m--R.sup.1 or X, or a...
Detergent compositions containing water-insoluble aluminosilicate ion exchange materials, organic surface-active agents and a minor amount of silicate solids. The aminosilicate ion exchange materials are characterized by the speed and efficiency with which they are capable of removing hardness ions from the washing liquor. A minor amount of sodium silicate solids is used to provide effective corrosion inhibition and crispness to the detergent granules. The instant compositions are capable of pro...
A detergent composition incorporates a synthetic anionic, nonionic, amphoteric or zwitterionic detergent active compound and a water soluble or dispersible salt of an alkane (C.sub.18 -C.sub.22)-1,2-sulphinic-sulphonic acid or an alkane (C.sub.18 -C.sub.22)-1,2-disulphonic acid detergency builder. The ratio by weight of the detergent active compound to the detergency builder is preferably from about 3:1 to 1:10, for example from about 1:1 to 1:5.
Finely divided calcium carbonate used in a detergent composition containing sodium carbonate as a detergency builder, is treated before drying with a water-insoluble dispersing aid. This decreases the tendency of the calcium carbonate particles to aggregate and be deposited on fabrics during washing.
The present invention relates to detergent compositions containing at least one anionic surfactant, one or more cationic surfactants of the formula: R.sup.1 R.sup.2 R.sup.3 R.sup.4 N+X.sup.- in which R.sup.1 is an optionally substituted phenol or hydroxyalkyl group having no greater than 6 carbon atoms; each of R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 is independently selected from C.sub.1-4 alkyl or alkenyl; R.sup.4 is a C[.sub.6 ].sub.5-11 alkyl or alkenyl; X.sup.- is a counterion, and a cationic dye-fixing agent.
A storable, high-viscosity liquid detergent having high washing power and pronounced foaming comprising water, and from about 2% to about 10% by weight of a fatty alcohol sulfate, from about 5% to 25% by weight of an alkyl polyglycoside; from about 0.1% to about 9% by weight of a soap; and from about 3% to 8% by weight of a lower alcohol, wherein said detergent has a viscosity of from about 500 mPa's to about 3000 mPa's.
An aqueous cleansing and oily soil removing composition comprising a surface active agent and an agent for removing oily soil from skin, in which the surface active agent and agent for removing oily soil are separate but combinedly dispensable from a single packaging means as discrete domains, preferably in a predetermined ratio. Separating the agent for removing oily soil from the surface active agent results in improved removal of oily soil from skin, and a clean, fresh feel which is appreciat...
A detergent composition comprising an alkaline metal hydroxide, an alkaline metal salt of L-aspartic-N,N-diacetic acid, optionally a scale inhibitor and/or an alkaline metal salt of gluconic acid. This detergent composition is used for removing soils, stains and other contaminants adhering to or deposited on the surfaces of glass, plastics, metals, etc., specifically the hard surfaces of, for example, containers for foodstuffs such as drinks and process foods, container boxes, piping of food pro...
