A feedbackward, distortion-compensating circuit suitable for pre- and post-distortion compensation of non-linear amplifying devices. The circuit taps-off a portion of the output signal of the compensating circuit, cubes it, and combines it with the input signal to that circuit. Appropriate adjustments to the phase and amplitude of the cubed signal ensure that the output signal of the non-linear amplifying device is free from all significant distortion.
A signal processing distortion reducing system which includes a plurality of series connected, straight, conductive signal path sections. These sections direct the flow of signal currents into a series of sharp 90 degree turns, which minimizes electromagnetic coupling between adjacent conductive signal path sections. These 90 degree turns have a distortion reducing, collimating effect on electromagnetic signals. Variations in construction include machined squares and bent strips of sheet materia...
Distortion or noise in detected signals, due to intermodular distortion in transmitting sets which transmit multiple channels simultaneously via the same element or component, is reduced by selecting carrier frequencies such that they are not all spaced by the same given frequency. In one embodiment, a first group of channels have one spacing, and an adjacent group have the same spacing but with carrier frequencies offset from a multiple of the spacing used in the first group. In another embodim...
An endoscope with an eyepiece and an objective lens system used for observing an object in an environmental media. The distal most optical element in the objective lens system is a spherical lens. The spherical lens has a curved distal surface that contacts the environmental media. The objective lens system facilitates the control of the distortion in an image generated by the objective lens system to approximate a reverse distortion of the eyepiece system measured as the distortion in an image ...
A signal processing system in a transmitter/receiver system for reducing undesired amplitude, frequency and/or phase distortions arising due to variations from transmitter pulse to transmitter pulse. A plurality of sequential samples of transmitted pulses are averaged and a plurality of filter coefficients are determined therefrom. The coefficients are used in a plurality of filters which respond to a plurality of sequential samples of received pulses, the filters providing output signals in whi...
A DC voltage is synthesized from a combination of a plurality of N phases of an oscillator signal. A diode circuit is used to combine the N phases, and a relationship between components of the circuit is established to eliminate the Nth harmonic of the oscillator signal from the synthesized DC voltage. Provision of non-zero input series resistances for four diodes together with a non-zero summing output resistance therefor provides a DC voltage having no harmonics below the eighth harmonic for a...
A gullwing distortion correction signal and a north-south pincushion distortion correction signal are generated and then summed to form a sum signal. The sum signal is coupled to a primary winding of a transformer. A secondary winding of the transformer is coupled in a current path of a vertical rate deflection current for modulating the deflection current in a manner that reduces the gullwing and north-south pincushion distortions. The secondary winding is included in a resonant circuit that is...
A deflection yoke field modifying device corrects N-S pincushion distortion without increasing A-zone convergence errors. The device may be of the form of a ferrite ring which is located near the electron beam exit end of the deflection yoke. The ring may be mounted on the yoke insulator. The ring shunts flux from the vertical deflection field in order to provide the desired N-S pincushion correction.
A terminal of the vertical deflection coil is connected to an integrating circuit, which generates a saw-tooth signal from the vertical deflection current for vertical synchronization. The saw-tooth signal is supplied to the clipping circuit having a diode so as to clip its waveform. The clipped signal and said parabolic signal are summed by an adding means in order to generate a correction signal. The correction signal is amplified with an amplifying transistors and supplied to the primary wind...
A resilient strain relief elastomer is placed between the stator of a synchro and its housing so that radial distortions of the housing are absorbed by the high shear compliance of the elastomer. Consequently, the stator remains undistorted, and the synchro is able to define accurately the angular position it senses.
