Deinking of paper having print during the production of recycled paper is accomplished by a froth flotation process using a hydrocyclone. A finely comminuted liquid solids used paper suspension having a consistency of about 1 to 4% is introduced into a generally vertical axis vortex provided in a hydrocyclone. Air is sparged into the suspension in the vortex, by passing through a porous inner wall of the hydrocyclone, to cause ink particles to attach to the air bubbles and to rise in a foam whil...
A liquid sterilizing system (A) defines a basin (10) in which a container (B) is removably disposed. The liquid sterilizing system selectively pumps sterile rinse liquids from a supply (24) and liquid sterilant solutions from a supply (70) into the basin filling the basin and the container. The container includes a lower shell having a bottom wall (34) that defines an aperture (32) for receiving sterilant and sterile rinse liquids. A nozzle plate (44) is mounted close to but spaced from the shel...
A vibration generator comprises a first rotational shaft 21 and second rotational shaft 22, with fixed driving gears 31 and 33, movable driving gears 32 and 34, fixed eccentric weights 51A and 52A, and movable eccentric weights 51B and 52B, and on the outer periphery of the phase adjustment shaft 23 which is arranged in parallel therewith, spiral grooves 61 and 62 are provided at two locations in the rotative directions opposite to each other, and at the same time, on the inner periphery of a pa...
A receiver comprises a tuner circuit for detecting a selected input signal and an audio circuit for reproducing the audio content in the detected signal. The tuner circuit includes a local oscillator, a prescaler, a phase detector and an integrator, and has a tendency to uncontrollably detune during AC power interruption responsive to a spurious tuning control signal generated in the tuner circuit and generate audible noise during the detuning. The audible noise is introduced into the audio cont...
A lock-up clutch control during a gear shifting is disclosed. A ratio of an input revolution speed of an automatic transmission to an output revolution speed thereof is used to determine whether the gear shifting is in progress. If this is the case, the lock-up clutch is released. A timer is provided which starts measuring time after occurrence of a command for such gear shifting. If the length of time becomes greater than a predetermined value, the lock-up clutch is released.
Twin-roll casting of molten metal to form a continuous cast metal strand is improved by electromagnetic stirring of molten metal immediately upstream of the nip between the rolls to provide a substantially homogenized melt of substantially uniform temperature upstream of the nip.
A system for pumping down pressurized gas residing after shut-off in the piping use to provide a gas flow to facilitate backside wafer heating/cooling during the processing of a semiconductor wafer and including a valve selectable secondary piping line for equalizing on shutoff any pressure differential occurring in the primary gas flow line between the process chamber and the backside heating element. The secondary line runs from an opening in the process chamber wall to a tee-joint installed i...
A control system for a wheeled vehicle, comprises a brake actuator for controlling a behavior of the vehicle during braking by producing a braking force difference between a left wheel braking force and a right wheel braking force in response to a control signal, a sensor for sensing an actual vehicle motion variable such as a yaw rate, and a controller for controlling the vehicle motion by producing the control signal. The controller determines an estimated vehicle motion variable from a driver...
A method for conducting ocular surgery using different viscoelastic agents is disclosed.
A method and composition are provided for reducing occurrence of scale in a subterranean formation during an enhanced oil recovery process. A treatment composition comprising an amino phosphonic acid and a copolymer of an alkenyl sulfonate and an ethylenically unsaturated comonomer is squeezed into the formation.
