
An orbital hold-down clamp assembly holds a workpiece in place on a platen against a stop or backjaw on the platen. The clamp assembly has four main parts. A screw cam has a threaded shaft and an offset tapered head; a clamp jaw has a distal gripping surface and a foot or fulcrum at the proximal edge; a flat rubber spring is positioned beneath the clamp jaw; and a T-nut mounts in a nest in the platen.
