An inductive coupled power system has a transmission circuit with a dual primary comprising two conductor loops. First segments of the loops extend through an area served by the system adjacent each other and second segments of the loops extend through the area one on either side of the adjacent first segments. A small loop configuration minimizes the stray magnetic field. A secondary pickup assembly has a U-shaped core with two legs which embrace the first segments of the two loops and a core e...
A linear inductive transducer includes a cylindrical former about which is wound a winding. Surrounding the former is a magnetic sleeve having external flange means which is located against an end face of a first casing part. A core member is slidable within a bore in the former and the former has a head located against an end of the sleeve. A second casing part is located about the first casing part and defines a space in which the head is located. The space is filled with a synthetic resin whi...
An inductive coupler system suitable for subsea use. The coupler has two sub-assemblies (17, 65) each including a magnetic half-core (35a, b). A tubular guide arrangement (18) is provided into which the first sub-assembly (17) is able to slide. The guide arrangement (18) includes means (63a, 63b) capable of co-acting with means (25a, 25b) fixed to the first coupler sub-assembly (17) so as to constrain the first coupler sub-assembly to take up a position within the guide arrangement to receive th...
Electrical inductive apparatus, such as a transformer, having a core-coil assembly disposed in a tank. The magnetic core of the core-coil assembly includes amorphous metal, and is of the wound, rectangular, jointless construction. A protective and insulative winding tube is disposed about a winding leg of the magnetic core, and an electrical winding is disposed about the winding tube. The winding tube and tank cooperatively support the weight of the electrical winding.
A radio circuit apparatus for broadcast frequencies promotes micro miniaturization and avoids the production of unwanted radiation by incorporating tunable R-C circuits in place of inductive elements. The apparatus provides simultaneous tuning of RF, mixer, and local oscillator circuits by coupling variable radiation levels to a plurality of radiation-sensitive resistor elements in each circuit. In one configuration of the tuner portion, a rod having a radioactive coating is mounted coaxially wi...
An inductive loop has its frequency of oscillation controlled by means of a counter, a reference frequency source, a comparator, and an attenuator. The frequency of the loop is compared by the comparator to the frequency of the reference source to produce an error signal which controls the attenuator. The amplitude of the output signal of the attenuator is used to adjust the loop frequency to a desired value.
The inductive store opening switch includes a cartridge casing comprising a length of metal tubing, for disposition between a pair of electrical buss bar conductors and in contact with both so as to establish a path for electrical current therethrough. The tubular casing, having inner and outer surfaces, is scored on its outer surface to establish a rupturing point. The scoring on the outer surface may constitute many different geometric forms. A solid body of inert material is insertable within...
An inductive coupler system including a first part in which is defined a socket region and a second part including a plug member. A first frame member carrying a first magnetic half-core constituting one half of an inductive coupler is supported by the first part, while the second part carries a second magnetic half-core constituting the other half of the inductive coupler. The first part includes actuation means responsive to the insertion of said plug member in said socket region to move the f...
The invention relates to an inductive proximity switch having a feeler head with a feeler coil as a component of an LC oscillator circuit of a high frequency oscillator, the feeler head serving to generate a directionally oriented, alternating magnetic field, whereby the feeler coil of the feeler head is coupled with a closed circuit loop comprising an inductance and an ohmic resistance such that the oscillator is damped when the field is undisturbed and its damping is reduced when the field is ...
A two-part separable inductive coupler is provided in one part with a current-limiting reactor whose control winding is energized by control means in response to the formation of a magnetic circuit between primary and secondary windings incorporated in said one part and the other said part respectively. Said control means may comprise a rectifier connected across said primary winding and is arranged to saturate the reactor when the coupler parts are connected and leave the reactor unsaturated wh...
