The Diels-Alder adduct of 2,3 and 6,7 poly(allocimene) and an activated olefin such as maleic anhydride serves to inhibit the corrosion of metals. The adduct or a derived polyamine reaction product in admixture with an oil such as a petroleum oil or grease is effective to inhibit rusting of ferrous metals.
Novel blood coagulation inhibitors are disclosed which are peptide fragments comprising (A) Kunitz-type domain two of lipoprotein-associated coagulation inhibitor which inhibits Factor Xa production and (B) Kunitz-type domains one and two of lipoprotein-associated coagulation inhibitor which inhibits Factor VIIa/TF enzymatic complex formation.
The invention is new renin inhibitor dipeptide and tripeptide derivatives of the formula: ##STR1##
A compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein A is ##STR2## in which X is .dbd.CH-- or .dbd.N--; R.sup.2 is hydrogen, alky, phenyl, benzyl or phenylethyl; Y is --CH.sub.2 --, --NH-- or --O--; and Z is --H.sub.2 or O; b is His, Leu, Ile, Nva, Nle, Ala or Val; and R.sup.1 is hydrogen, alkyl, phenyl or phenylakyl; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof are renin inhibitors.
A scale inhibiting composition comprises the combination of (a) a copolymer of an alkene, preferably a branched chain alkene, and an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid or anhydride, in acidic or neutralized form, and (b) an organic polyphosphonic acid or salt. A preferred composition contains the sodium salt of a copolymer of isobutene and maleic anhydride and 1-hydroxyethyl-1,1-diphosphonic acid. The compositions may be used in secondary or tertiary oil recovery, desalination of sea water and the so...
Water soluble corrosion inhibitors which exhibit low hydrocarbon carryunder are prepared by reaction of alkylenepolyamines and formaldehyde.
The present invention is directed to certain 3,5 substituted, 4,5-dihydroisoxazoles, and methods for their use. These compounds are transglutaminase inhibitors, and are particularly effective in the inhibition of epidermal transglutaminase and the treatment of acne.
A compound having the structure ##STR1## where T is of the fomrula ##STR2## where each D.sup.1 and D.sup.2, independently, is a hydroxyl group of a group which is capable of being hydrolysed to a hydroxyl group in aqueous solution at physiological pH; a group of the formula ##STR3## where G is either H,F or an alkyl group containing 1 to about 20 carbon atoms and optional heteroatoms which can be N, S, or O; or a phosphonate group of the formula ##STR4## where J is O-alkyl, N-alkyl, or alkyl, ea...
An evaporation inhibitor, having particular use with spray mixtures of agricultural chemicals applied by the low-volume method, in the form of a paraffin-containing aqueous dispersion or a self-emulsifying solution in an organic solvent, and having the following composition:
This invention relates to novel biologically active molecules which bind to and inhibit thrombin. Specifically, these molecules are characterized by a thrombin anion-binding exosite association moiety (ABEAM); a linker portion of at least 18 .ANG. in length; and a thrombin catalytic site-directed moiety (CSDM). This invention also relates to compositions, combinations and methods which employ these molecules for therapeutic, prophylactic and diagnostic purposes.
